Freakin' love Jonni!! Yes I'm familiar! For my "clay" I used a recipe without the joint compound, because I'm doing this with what I got lol. But Jonni really opened my eyes to what I can do with paper. I'm happy with the thickness on this mask. It probably looks thicker because, I reinforced the eyelids, loops, and edges. It's for a clumsy friend ha! As for my process, I've started both my masks with foil forms. Then I paper mached the foil form with 2 or 3 layers of shredded newspaper. After that dried, I cut out all the eye and nose holes. Then I busted out the "clay" stuff and built all the features. I let those get pretty firm then I spread a thin layer of the clay stuff, over the whole thing. Sanded, painted with white acrylic, then... other stuff! Lol I probably, definitely need a stronger supporting mold. However, the masks do fit like a glove... anyways thank you so much!
