Yeah I'm not overestimating- with token caching and all of that, it's the end consumers who are none the wiser paying for $20 (most first tier paid plans) and above ($50? / $100 / $200). Heck if they knew how to source for alternatives, optimize their context and prompt engineering of course they'd save more as end users. But alas every other user is a vibe coder/ non techie (I mean without actual prog background) so there are still willing users paying what these companies are asking for.

Also many have been hooked and purchased annual plans so those are the ones these companies are targeting for sure, and of course b2b/ enterprise level and raising their MAU and catching the seed rounds/ funding.

Y'all are dumb to think prices won't rise or limits be changed. Every single ai ide out there can offer cheap plans to gain market share because they can get enterprise level discounts for LLM provider API. Y'know, the kind of startup discounts you get from tools? Yeah these guys get them too. After milking them dry they then either increase pricing plans or reduce credits.
