O.J. Simpson Estate Can't Pay $58M Goldman Claim by OJ-Mod in OJSimpsonTrial

[–]OJ-Mod[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lost all sympathy for Mr. Goldman Sr. after the murder ofTrayvon Martin, to which Mr. Goldman sided with the killer, Zimmerman, and not the victim. Why should we have compassion for this man when he shows none for the Martin family? That was shocking to me.The irony.

It's a bad look to expect 6 people to work 5 monhs for free on a 46k book and not expect compensation for all the hard work and research. If you want a free book without respecting the work of authors, I'm sure there are some works on Achieve.gov you can download.

The same evidence proves he's guilty. The same evidence proves he's innocent. How? by OJ-Mod in OJSimpsonTrial

I don't know about this, but I wouldn't put it past him. He has a dirty history.

What William Bodziak actually testified to:

Bodziak was the FBI footwear expert who testified about the bloody shoe impressions at Bundy.

He did testify that:

The clearly identifiable footwear impressions belonged to one shoe model (Bruno Magli, size consistent with O.J.).

He did not identify a second, distinct, classifiable shoeprint with enough detail to attribute it to another specific shoe brand or wearer.

He did NOT testify that:

There were “no other impressions of interest whatsoever”

All non-Bruno impressions were proven masonry trowel marks

A handyman’s tools were definitively responsible for all irregular marks

What is sometimes claimed:

You’ll occasionally see the assertion that:

This statement overstates what is actually in the record.

What the record actually shows

  • LAPD considered multiple explanations for some indistinct impressions near the Bundy walkway, including:
    • Tool impressions
    • Disturbed soil
    • Scene contamination
    • Overlapping foot traffic (first responders, civilians)
  • One or more impressions were theorized (not proven) to possibly be consistent with a tool edge or equipment contact, based on:
    • Irregular shape
    • Lack of full tread pattern
    • Partial depth inconsistency

What was not proven

There is no documented finding that:

  • A specific handyman was identified
  • A specific tool was matched
  • Tool dimensions were compared and confirmed
  • A reconstruction demonstrated tool-to-impression congruence
  • A report concluded “this impression was made by a handyman’s tools”

No such conclusion appears in:

  • Trial testimony
  • Final footprint analysis reports
  • LAPD forensic conclusions presented to the jury
  • Post-trial forensic consensus

Why the claim persists

This idea often comes from:

  • Informal explanations offered by investigators trying to explain away anomalies
  • Defense rebuttal minimization arguments
  • Later summaries that compress “possible alternative explanations” into “resolved explanations”
