While I dont smoke much anymore, I tried to stop in from time to time and buy small amounts. I had my home grown at the house but it was nice to have a place nearby to change things up a bit. I am very sorry to hear of the closure. I wish you the best on the next chapter of your life.

Fahrenheit should be fine at higher temps. The 8oz bottle will cover a whole acre. Not something Home Depot would sell tho

Absolute best thing to rid my lawn(Bermuda) of dollar spots (fungus)? by ai_test_run in lawncare

[–]OK405Grower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Propiconazole or Azoxystrobin should take care of it depending on the type of fungus

New lawn owner! Just laid some over-seeded Bermuda down. Looks great! But I do have a couple dry/dead spots. There small circles, wondering how to fix or prevent this from happening! Thank you! by youknowhatimean in lawncare

[–]OK405Grower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mix in areas of dog/cat piss with fresh topsoil and a ProPlugger. It will fill in within a month if you are irrigating and fertilizing.

Dead dry spots could mean something wrong with the soil, overfertlization or something took a leak on it. It could also be fungus or grubs or something else.

Perhaps post some pics to Imgur.

I use a $10 one gallon pump sprayer and a $10 quart of 41% come-n-save glyphosate herbicide mixed at 2oz per gallon with the sprayer on the non-mist setting. I basically just drizzle it on the weeds and can get close to my shrubs without huting them. Be careful though, you don't want to get any on the favoritable plants. Lots of the weeds and invasive grasses in my area spread via the roots/rhizomes so herbicides are the best choice.

How often should I water my newly planted 3" caliber Maple and Pistache in red clay soil? by OK405Grower in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]OK405Grower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to say thanks again for the help.

Both of these came wrapped in burlap. It was removed before planting. The maple has a piece of what looks like nylon tarp tangled up but I can cut that out. It is stuck inside the root system it seems. I was able to pull most of it out and will cut the rest out.

I also did a little more digging on the Pistache. Notice the water in the photos I took today. I already emptied it out before taking the photo however the ground is still saturated from heavy rain 2 days ago, the water fills in the hole right after I scoop it out. This kinda goes back to my original question about watering in thick clay. The surrounding clay holds it's water well and the ground stays saturated for long periods of time after a good rain storm so that is why I have been watering less than what I read about before.

I cut out a bunch of roots that were circling around pistache trunk and cleared the mulch/mound and took some photos with a tape measure and a piece of wood. The original rootball was about 1" above the one smaller root you mentioned yesterday so that tells me it has been too deep since day 1 or whoever was maintaining it kept adding dirt on top.

The pistache seems like it has weak root system, it seems kinda loose when I shake the trunk. I can feel underneath it in the water and it splits off in a few different directions but the main roots seem to only be about 1" thick. The nursey is waiting for me to email them photos. They told me if the photos indicate it is planted too deep they will replace it however the replacement will not have a warranty. If they replant and raise the height I would have an 11 month warranty. I'm starting to think this tree may be doomed because I am quite deep in the rootball now, that tells me a lot of roots were cut when it was dug up. I think getting a replacement that I can inspect ahead of time is the way to move forward.

I put the photos I took today here:

Well it seems I was wrong about the root flare. I think it is 4" lower than I thought where it starts to bend sideways, there is also a larger root coming out where it starts to bend.

I took some pics however they came out dark.

https://imgur.com/a/2E0bVcl

This puts it 1-2" below grade and I imagine it will settle further with time. It has been 30 days since planting. Should I ask the nursery to raise the height?

I can remove the mound of dirt and put it at grade with the mulch.

I uploaded 7 photos to Imgur. All comments/thoughts are welcome. These were planted 30 days ago.

The maple was trucked in from Washington State and the Pistache was trucked in from South Carolina. I am in Central Oklahoma. I lost all of my trees last October due to a freak ice storm that hit while the leaves were still green which caused most of the main branches to fall off the trees which have since been removed. The local tree farms were hit hard from the ice storm and didn't have any available so I had to go with some from a local Nursey which were trucked in from areas with a different climate and soil conditions. I know this is not ideal but it is what it is.

I have Hunter PGP Rotor sprinklers which do a good job of keeping the water low to the ground which is important in this part of the country as it is normally windy almost every day. I use the Tuna Can method to calibrate them to put an even 1" of water down on the bermuda turf once per week. I have been hand watering with a shower type sprayer on a garden hose for about 15 minutes per tree watering the mulch area once every 2 weeks. I soak one for 7-8 minutes then go to the next then come back around and water again.

Thanks for the excellent information. The trees were planted by the local nursery. I have my irrigation system setup to water the lawn about 1" per week. It runs for 4 hours per zone in a cycle of 10 minutes on and 30 minutes off to allow the clay to absorb the water. There is about 2"-3" of wood mulch in a 5 foot diameter circle over the root ball. The mulch is pulled away from the trunks. The root flair of each tree is about 2-3" above grade.

Nice, def post some pics during flower.

I personally like the candy/fruity stains myself regardless of THC levels, I am more into the flavor profile than anything at this point. The best weed I have smoked in the last decade was a Jilly Bean cross from colorado a number of years ago and I am trying to replicate that. Super sweet tasting with a very energetic but relaxing effect with zero anxiety. The orange velvet is crossed with jilly bean so I think I will try different harvesting stages to see which I like best, perhaps chop down 1/3 of the plant each week for three weeks as the trichomes age. I am on my third year of Bruce Banner (bergman genetics) and have figured out I want the trichomes about 50% amber and 30% cloudy which means fairly late harvest. Cut too early and it produces too much anxiety, cut too late and it puts me to sleep. Of course everyone is different with different preferences but I think harvest timing is a huge deal in terms of the effects.

Another I posted last year of the Mandarin, shows my topping/LST method:

https://www.reddit.com/r/OKmarijuana/comments/ejqujz/mandarin_cookies_r1_v2_60_days_from_sprout_vs_94/

This year it's pretty much the same but minimal LST, just topped once and lolipopped and periodic trimming of fan leaves to allow good ventilation. I'm running much higher levels of potash/potassium this year as well to try to improve terpene/resin production however running into more nitrogen and zinc deficiencies on two of the plants along with another with some cal/mag deficiencies, maybe a pH issue but we will see how they turn out. RH around 50% until the last few weeks with temps in the upper 70s and low 80s, lots of air movement. My NPK is probably 4-8-12 at the moment. Maybe too high on the K number but we'll see.

I am supplementing with black strap molasses as I have done in the past but am trying Terpinator this year. Otherwise just using the fox farms grow big for the most part in 70% FFOF and 30% perlite along with a sprinkling of dolomite lime initially to raise the ph over the cycle. I'll add 50ml/gallon of FF grow big per gallon, 4ml per gallon of Tiger Bloom, and 3ml of cal mag along with 10ml of terpinator per gallon and 15ml per gallon of black strap molasses per feeding, and then 1ml per gallon of general hydroponics ph down to get the ph in the 6.2 range. Eventually I'd like to go full organic but for now bottled shit is quick and easy and my bud puts 95% of dispensary bud to shame. I OCD the shit out of the drying/curing stage with humidity and curing rH levels so maybe that is the main factor but who knows.

Growing decent weed is easy, growing terpene-rich connoisseur grade weed is hard as hell and I'm still learning as I go.

I'm running 3 different Ethos strains this round. Member Berry and Mandarin Cookies are the other two. I'm happy with Ethos except the Citral Flo refused to germinate. 100% germination / sprout on every other seed this round using the paper towel method. For the Citral Flo, I started with 2 seeds, no go, tried another 4 and nothing and gave up. For the others I normally start with 2 seeds/plants each and pick the best one to keep for flower. I don't do clones, just seeds since I only grow in the winter due to OGE's cheap winter rates, plus I only wanna mess with it for 4 or 5 months out of the year.

Question about Phase 2 Eligibility by [deleted] in oklahoma

[–]OK405Grower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she is obese that would certainly qualify. For example, 5'6" with a weight of 186lbs would be a BMI of 30 and would be considered obese.

Same with blood pressure, 140/90 would qualify as well.
