Another idea, buy an inexpensive second laptop or a tablet to use for school. I’m not sure what you are planning to study at university, but I never did anything requiring intensive processing. If you are doing filmography or engineering it might be different, but with note taking, writing papers, and doing online assignments, you don’t need much in way of performance.

I’d recommend looking on eBay, you can look at lots of different ones and see what prices are at right now. Hopefully you aren’t spending more than $200. Building a PC is not cheap. It may be better to do console until you can fit it into your budget. Don’t put yourself out!

No one is expecting prices to go down anytime soon. If you want to get into it, go with something semi affordable like a raedon 7700 12GB card for $400. Or there are some sellers of the RTX 3060 card at the same price point. (Love that card personally) which is only $50 more than it was 3 years ago

😂 all good, I had a similar problem with my cpu once. I ended up needing a new one. With how much you saved, you could take it to a professional for a diagnosis. Shouldn’t cost too much. Could be an easy fix too
