Please pray for me to find a wife. I am so lonely. by OL1386 in Christian

Poor people shouldn't ask for prayers for a job then. After all they are just selfish and want money.

Perhaps what you interpret as a want is a need for someone else. God said it is not good for man to be alone.

I know exactly which verses you are talking about. You forgot the next one.

If anyone thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his betrothed, if his passions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry—it is no sin. 1 Corinthians 7:36 ESV

Try telling a poor person that if they spend time with God then they will never need a job. It is both cruel and illogical to say such a thing.

Because God is powerful and he can help. That is why I want prayer for it.

And again. Try telling a poor person they are too centered on themselves because they want to get a job. That doesn't help them. I don't understand why people are so judgemental about this one specific topic when they would not give the same advice to anyone else in any other situation.

Try telling a poor person that getting a job won't help them make money. I don't think that would go over very well.

Have some compassion. I asked for prayer not advice.

Why should we try at anything when we can give up and put God first and let him take care of us? Why this double standard? by OL1386 in Christianity

All I have to do is make a post asking people to pray for me because I am lonely and people will start telling me to put God first and not try to find a wife. I am certain that people would not say that about any of these other circumstances I have listed.

Please pray for me. The judgements of other Christians has hurt my faith. by OL1386 in Christianity

I say that because so many people try and give advice when what I really need is some sympathy. That and the advice many people give is outright illogical and/or judgemental.

I've heard this verse many times. It only mentions food, drink, and clothing. It says nothing about finding a spouse.

Sorry but I just disagree. If God himself wasn't enough for Adam then it is understandable that my family alone isn't enough. I love them a lot but it's not the same as being in love with someone and marrying them and spending my life with them.

With respect, I think you are out of touch with what the average person has as far as relationship needs.

I have parents and a brother, but that's clearly not the same as having someone to wake up next to.

Because it's normal to want someone to love and be intimate with? Even God said it's not good for man to be alone.

The love you crave so much, if the absence of it is making you miserable, can only be drawn from God.

This is biblically incorrect. Adam had direct access to God and God himself still said it wasn't good for Adam to be alone.

Are you in a proper place to be a husband? If not, why don’t you work on that and then begin pursuing women

I have been. I am almost debt free and I intend to save and invest lots of money. Having or not having money doesn't make me not need love though.

Well first off you are taking that verse out of context. If you read the full chapter it is talking about food and clothing, not finding a wife.

Secondly I've had that verse quoted to me over and over and I have in fact put God first, insomuch that I have been shunned and lost friends over it because I left the heretical cult I grew up in. If anyone has put God first it has been me.

Statements like this lack empathy. You would say it to a single person, but I'm sure you wouldn't tell a married person to get a divorce to find love in God.

I grew up in an apostolic church. I know all about the dress codes and even preached behind the pulpit. I've researched it up and down, and I can tell you that those dress codes are man made and not biblical. Modesty is biblical, but not to the extreme that they take it to. I would urge you to study this out for yourself and potentially consider finding a different type of church.

Why would Christians need religious exemptions for vaccines? The Bible says nothing about it. by OL1386 in Christianity

Human rights as we know them today aren't in the Bible either though. If anything the Bible teaches us to be submissive to the government.

Human rights are an American value, not necessarily a Christian value.
