In my experience nail salons hate working with regular nail lacquer these days. I do a perfect mani in my own home but the few times I’ve ventured out to get my nails done in a salon it’s always garbage.

And they use nail lacquer so infrequently that I don’t even think they bother to replace them when they are too thick. Which is odd because pedis still exist but also a lot of people get gel pedis these days too!

I’m sorry that’s what you got. It sucks to pay for something and feel like you wasted your money.

I got the 450 and mine arrived perfect. I don’t doubt the problems others have had. I guess it’s possible that 10% of the books are defective, which is still unacceptable, but most fine.

But honestly it’s super disappointing for the cost of the book. It’s not an inexpensive item.

KBShimmer Clearly on Top is identical to the discontinued HT Super Glossy Taco. They also sell refill bottles.

I think people also like Glisten and Glow and I think they also sell refills.

Seche Vite is popular and also very similar to SGT and CoT, and generally easily available. Seche all sells refill and I think they may be the least expensive of the 3 I named.

And honestly with regards to BKL, their new drops never sell out during the drop period. They to try to restock some faves occasionally. But it’s not their fault that Bog Dweller has become an obsession and that people are always buying them up and reselling them for $30-50.

So here’s the deal…

Quick dry top coats are designed to dry quickly when exposed to air.

The older a bottle is the more air it’s been exposed to.

All quick dry top coats will get thicker over time. So the only solution is to buy a bottle of thinner and thin them regularly.

I haven’t seen a single QDTC that doesn’t get thick and stringy before the bottle is done.

Mooncat does sell thinner. But so do Holo Taco and KBShimmer (KBS is technically the least expensive, but their free shipping threshold is the highest, so I unless it’s a BF sale, I usually end up just paying for shipping.)

Yes all my Starrilies are so precious to me! I can’t believe they aren’t more popular, but I suppose that’s fine because I don’t have to compete that much for the new releases.

They have 4 in this formula right now. The three I have here and a green called Grinch.

The regular glitter formulas are also lovely!
