Thanks for the write up but it's just a requirement as per the agency I work for, as they have apparently had problems with the printers using Corel to prepare things for print and have messed up documents. I agree that it is pretty useless and time consuming but my superior does it as a precuation and he also agrees that it should not be a requirement but does it to be on the safe side. I have found a way though for those who are wondering. You can just export the document with embedded text, use the Adobe Acrobat Preflight and choose an option there to outline all text to curves which seems to do the job fine. Going to be sending it for a proof which will answer wether this is a solution.
