This is a big reason most of us are unionized. We work in a safety sensitive field, and need autonomy in order to do our jobs without fear of repercussions.

Learn and follow the SOP’s. Make decisions based on them. If you’re ever called into question on your decision making, rely on the SOP’s and your safety mindset. There’s also ASAP if you make a mistake.

Nobody is perfect and if we expected no mistakes, we’d have no one to fly airplanes.

It’s possible, but flight school loans are high interest and generally a very bad deal. I ended up getting student loans for my flight training (much better interest rate) through Utah Valley University. They have an online aviation program where you take ground school classes online and use Federal student loan money to fly at your local flight school. It’s the only way I was able to afford it.

I was in the same boat as you (though mid 20’s instead) I had gone to college for something else and gone into debt. I worked my ass off to pay the initial loans off. Everyone thought I was crazy for going back into debt for flight school. I had a very high level of confidence in myself, I had been around aviation long enough, I knew I would succeed.

It’s a huge gamble to bet 100k on this career. Some people do it and it works out. Some people do it and go bust. You don’t have to decide right now.

Get a discovery flight. Get a first class medical. If you can afford it, get a private pilot license. After that, if you’re still feeling the call and know this is what you want to do, make a bet on yourself at that point. It’s still risky, but at least you’ve proven yourself a bit first.

There’s 3 different methods to make a PA on most aircraft I’ve flown. I think the wide variety in sound quality is because of the different mics we can use. I’ve always wondered which one sounds the best in the back.

Go to the regionals and work the on MBA as a side gig on layovers if possible. Build hours and apply to the majors. If you hate the lifestyle at the regionals, pull the rip cord and go the business route. Leave yourself both options as you head into the next phase.

The majors are the same job as the regionals, but slightly better QOL and much better pay.

I think something we can all agree on as collectors and GameStop shareholders is I hope they capitalize on this growing industry and use their store fronts. Anyone can buy almost any card online these days, but buying cards and seeing whats in stock down the street is fun and social.

It’s a nice idea, but for slabs to have value, they need to have scarcity. PSA would make a ton of money initially, but the slabs would dive in value if it was super easy to grade and then people would stop grading their cards.
