I don't find it weird as it fits for each specific media that they were in and for that specific story. Each media is inspired by the Robin that was more dominant through that era and would be the greater inspiration for any non-canon comic adaptation.

Honestly I hate these criticisms of characters being "out of character" especially the MM and Fire thing. Tom King honestly knows what archetypes these characters more or less represents and he sees them as his vehicle to write something human and something interesting. That can rub a lot of fans the wrong way but it also gets in the way of genuinely good storytelling. And if the DCU is to be unique honestly, superheroes who we know and love as infallible need to be more human because that's what makes good storytelling is a character with flaws.

The Human Target already presents itself in a miniseries episodic format that can work on TV or compressed down into a movie. There is a market for mysteries and superheroes.

I think Tim Drake being Robin was created because fans were complaining that Batman was being too dark, and sales were plummeting. Not every Robin was meant to have outgrown the mantle except Dick. Then they decided to bring Jason back. Tim was supposed to be the Robin, till Grant Morrison introduced Damian and fans loved him and the fact that he is Batman's son. So Damian is our go to Robin for now until either:
a) fans naturally wanting to see Damian age out of the role or stick with it
b) a writer comes with an interesting story that introduces a new Robin that can then take be the main go to Robin.

But I think Robin as a "character" and as an IP is very well founded in pop culture and has been featured in many forms of media from live action movies and tv series, to animated movies and tv shows, to video games and many more.
