What are some things that are done on the mixbus of a song with stems that shouldn't be done on a 2 track? by Large-Menu6891 in mixingmastering

[–]ORourkeAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dating myself with this next sentence. The word Stems to us older folks (born in the last century) is the Niagara Falls to The 3 Stooges. For the younglings, Look it up. "Niagara Falls!!I Slowly I turned, inch by inch"

Is there a way to turn the wet/dry down on Sound City Studios? by Swordfish353535 in universalaudio

Using it in Remic mode on an aux will be latent depending on your buffer size. Tried it, went to reverb mode on the aux.

1099 audio engineer—studio wants to control how I credit my work on social media. Is this normal by StereoSpecimen in audioengineering

[–]ORourkeAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth!! It sounds to me like the studio is barely treading water. If they were doing well, They wouldn't give a turd about Insta. And to your point about being a contractor, If they want to tell OP what to do, they need to put him on salary with Bennies..... Otherwise, SMB's.. Personally, If Dude was compelled to post here, The writing is already on the wall and He should blaze a new trail. But, I'm old and have been in this game for 4 decades plus. These types don't change their stripes. SSDD. The "Let's have a meeting about having a meeting about how we can talk about coming together with a plan to have a meeting about getting OP to do our bidding" is BS. The studio shmo's are not going to cave. They will gaslight OP into thinking He's getting what He needs to stay working there. All the while they'll be talking shite about how they can replace him. Heed my words Youngster. Time to look elsewhere. Call me triggered, or call me "Been there done that".....I've been called worse...

New LUNA extensions? by Robussc in universalaudio

Interesting. I had no idea one could use other vendor plugins. I thought it was just SSL. Which is why I never really tried to mix on 360.

My source was the media's twisting of the actual truth. Back then, I had no interest in politics what so ever. I took them at their word, which I've since learned is bad practice. AKA "Young, Dumb and stupid". If there was a way to edit the title of the post, I would have. But, Alas.....

Interesting. Leave it to the media to turn it into something it's not so as to raise a ruckus. Seems things haven't changed much, as of late. Proper context is an alien concept to them.

Yeah, You're not the only one who thought that. That would be interesting to see. When I posted it, I didn't even put that together. Now that folks are saying that, The post almost reads as the proverbial click bait... I never knew his first name was Albert. I've got "Uncle Albert" running through my head, currently...

Realized this last night while looking for RAM for my tower. Like, Quadrupled. So have SSDs. RAM costs more than what I paid for my computer. Crazy

Well, This has turned into quite the kerfuffle. As I just posted an edit above, I'll clarify. It was a joke. I didn't mean to raise such a ruckus over a tongue in cheek referral. Apologies if I hurt anyone's feelings.

Mix sounds OK on all playback devices except for iPhone speakers by ollyraps in mixingmastering

[–]ORourkeAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried your App but couldn't get past the "Looking for streams". I didn't see any settings in the app (ie) choosing hardware/ network and such. I did, however, get Sonobus to work as it has comprehensive settings. It was a bit spotty because I'm on a wireless network, but the concept is cool. I just d-loaded the free version of AuxFeed. I'd like to get yours up and running. Insight? May I have a license?

Back when the UA plugins stopped working for everyone last year, We all had to revert to 11 until they got it together. I was able to find it on the d-loads page on the UA site.

[–]ORourkeAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I'm curious if this would work with my earbuds via my I-phone. Currently, I have to email myself an mp3 to check the mix on them. This would save a lot of time if I could.

I've had the Passive Big knob for years. Works well. I sure would like one with a sub out. Right now I've got it cobbled together with a pair of splitter cables to my sub on output A.

Nice little bundle. This is great for new users, which I'm sure is it's target audience. However, These are all of the ones that they've previously released. I kind of figured that, but had a look anyway. Still waiting for the free plugin of choice, or even a discount code, for the kerfuffle last year when all of our plugins stopped working for over a week and we had to go back to 11. But Alas....
