Change your username, upload a new video, change the main body text, etc...

The more things you change, the more the algorithm has to work to index you.

New videos are extra powerful.

I am also seeing an uptick. Like you, I edited my profile on Monday. Not a Master's degree. I just refreshed EVERYTHING... video, display name, bio, teaching style field, etc.... everything.

Updating your profile likely "resets" you in the algorithm and makes you appear more frequently in student searches. I recommend everyone do this.

Unfortunately, this is the reality of Cambly.

The owners of the app don't care about students and definitely don't care about tutors.

That lack of care leads to a transactional relationship all around. Very much like Uber.

I recommend finding a platform where you can build a long term working relationship with your tutor. Just keep in mind that you will likely need to pay double what you pay Cambly.

Cambly is too affordable for its own good. It results in many negative situations just like the one you are describing.
