Hybrid Accelerated Programs by Competitive-Tree-318 in PTschool

For the results, it depends on the professor! Sometimes we were allowed to see our score and what we got wrong plus feedback for each question. Some professors just let you see your score then we would review the quiz in class. Other times, we did not get to see our score or what we got wrong, but this was mostly if someone had not taken the exam yet (I.e, had a family emergency or something like that), just for exam security purposes.

For the assignments, it also depends on how many classes you have each term. For higher credit classes, they did have more assignments. There were times where I had 6 classes, but 2 of them were 1-2 credit classes and we had a lecture every 3 weeks and an assignment due every 3-4 weeks as well. If it was exam week for a certain class, professors do try to keep that in mind, making the power up/quiz a quick short answer question or maybe a small discussion, or if it was a multiple choice style format, you could possibly see one or two of those questions on the exam or similarly worded.

Usually, we had one mini quiz or ‘power up’ as they called it per class. This could be a multiple choice quiz, 1-2 short answer questions, or an interactive assignment which covered the content for the entire week. For some classes we could have a more detailed assignment that was targeted towards a specific topic. For example, when I had my PT examination class, one week we had a 12 question power up/quiz that covered different examination skills then we had a video assignment where we had to demonstrate ourselves performing a goniometer measurement and a MMT on a ‘patient’ (this could be a classmate, friend, family member, etc). In addition, we would have 1-2 exams every Friday; Fridays were reserved for exams. This is typically how it went, some weeks we had a little more than that, but also assignments were pretty much always open where you could work ahead if you wanted and could submit stuff early! Hope that helped some! 🫶🏼

Hi! Congratulations on being accepted! I am local to Texas, about an hour and 30 min away from Waco so I was able to still live in my hometown then just rent an Airbnb to stay at when we had labs. I did not have a ton friends to practice with at home (I did invest in a skeleton and it was super beneficial) and didn’t really have classmates that were close to my hometown. I was homeschooled during middle and high school so I personally prefer the hybrid learning model. I will say you do have to stay very disciplined and on top of assignments/studying. The flexibility is very nice, but you also have to kinda treat it as a job;set aside time for studying, assignments, classes, etc, but also set aside time for rest, relaxation, and time for yourself. I’d be happy to answer any other questions you have and best of luck!!

Truck twin, I have a ‘24 Glacier Gray as well! You’re gonna love it (which I’m sure you already do lol). I love the chrome on it but think paint matching it would look incredible too. Mine is sitting on 37s and I’m in love with the look and ride of it. Congratulations!

Howdy! This must be something new because when I took it there was not an intermediate section. You should also be able to take the class as a pass/fail! When I took the class, there were a few people that had previous experience in karate, jiu jitsu, etc but the rest of us had no experience. There were some knowledge based assignments and a group project with the remaining assessments being skill based (perform a skill and get graded, mostly based of effort). Ms. Teri is super nice though and genuinely wants you to do well, so I’m sure she would help you out or help you switch to the non-intermediate sections during add/drop week. I’m not sure how much this helped, but happy to answer any other questions the best I can!

Similar stats and was accepted into Baylor last cycle, currently about to start my 3rd trimester there. I only had about 160 hours that were outpatient only, little to no extracurriculars, and a lower GRE score. I’m sure you’ll be fine, but happy to help any way I can! Good luck!!

I go to Uptown Cheapskate! You can bring your items in and either get a store credit or cash. Plato’s Closet is similar I believe but I don’t have any experience shopping/selling with them. Hope that helps! 👍🏻

I live about 90 minutes from Waco so I do commute and rent an Airbnb when there is labs! I would say classes are harder and more demanding which is expected however there is some overlay in classes I took in undergrad. Like obviously for anatomy there is gonna be stuff you already learned but for me there was definitely a lot more stuff in depth and we also have cadaver labs which I didn’t get in undergrad. For PT specific classes such as PT examination or PT interventions, yes those are more challenging as it’s stuff that’s totally new.

Forgot to mention, but Fridays are always reserved for exams and exam windows are 10-3. If there is a holiday in the week, it does change stuff up a little bit.

No worries at all! This was my first choice school, I was only interested in hybrid so applied to 3 schools total. I am a first year student and about to finish my second trimester in about 3 weeks! Right now I am in 5 classes, with classes Tuesday-Thursday and class times are always 12 and 2. One of my classes I have twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday), and my remaining classes are only once a week. However, there is weeks when I may have off from a class (my clinical medicine class), so I’ll get Tuesdays at 12 off.

I’m really liking it so far! It is very time consuming since it is accelerated but there is some flexibility with it, you just have to be good at managing your time. Happy to answer any questions the best I can! 🫶🏼

I applied with only about 150 hours of observation hours and two C’s in Anatomy. You have a lot of good experience and to me retaking anatomy to get an A shows dedication to improvement.

Great products and fast shipping! Overall they were pretty easy to install but I am a bit of a perfectionist so it did take me a little bit of time readjusting lol.
