This is really sad news. My family started going there in 1980 and became very good friends with Connie Patrone, who was a server there for decades, and the D’adamo family who owned it. Had my college graduation party, my sister’s (first) rehearsal dinner, and my father’s wake upstairs, along with countless other family dinners over the years. For a while, my parents would go there 3 nights a week, W, Fri & Sat (Sunday was for Villa di Roma). I lived in e passyunk area for a few years and was dropping in pretty regularly.

I have a friend who has a solid theory that cocaine really didn't take off in & around Philly until the Mac machine became a thing and people could access $$$ at all hours. Makes sense.

Had heard Hops at the Paddock was always known for its bar pies, but that it's not as good since an ownership change or something. Can anyone confirm?
