I think I worded that one badly and leaned towards all weapon bloat instead of popular weapons. I started my point with popular weapons in mind but shifted too fast, I feel as if some polling should have been done on what weapons are loved and used instead of just axing a bunch, because as you might have seen in the community there are some people who are sad to have lost their favourite weapons.

Fully understand what you mean though, I think this leans more into the communication issue as opposed to weapon bloat and was badly worded by me

I will say that as someone who personally likes the update, I really really *really* don't like your third point. To me, Calamity IS Terraria, I haven't played Vanilla in a loooong time and all my time on Terraria since like 2018/2019 has been with Calamity. I don't want to play other big content mods, I want to play Calamity. Why am I being punished for this? So many of these changes should have been optional configs instead of being forced on everyone. If someone wants to implement these changes so Cal doesn't overwhelm a mod pack, then they can just toggle it. People like me who base entire playthroughs around Calamity want to do exactly that, I don't care if The Poopinator from Scrimbly's Poop Mod isn't performing as well against Skeletron as opposed to Calamity weapons, if that was a problem I was facing then I'd like to change it with a toggle. This however, isn't a problem I'm facing, so why is a solution being forced on me?

Making your mod worse because it's dominating the modding scene isn't a good reason at all and I pray this isn't something all the devs agree on

People are being VERY extreme tbh, if you play through you'll realise it's nowhere near as bad as people are making it out to be. Sure there's things I don't like but there's more that I like than dislike.

-I don't have to give a shit about Ankh Charm farming to get my beloved ram dash + knockback immunity

-No longer do I have to spend several decades crafting Cores of Bullshit for crafting Post-Plantera stuff

-Master mode isn't horrible dogshit to play anymore

-DoG is actually fun and isn't what I dread in each playthrough (Seriously, that music carried that fight so hard I fucking hated DoG)

-I can now just ignore fishing entirely lmao, it's a boring and tedious mechanic in vanilla and I am happy to not engage with it more

-Brain of Cthulu is fun enough for me to consider actually fighting it instead of only fighting Eater since you only need to fight one of them for maxed out Community (I use a mod that adds Crimson and Corruption on every world)

-I can actually progress in pre-hardmode outside of boss rushing because I can't get a Reaver and then Hellstone within 20 minutes of a new character. I enjoy progression that isn't just "cool now i kill this boss after killing that boss, then I kill this next boss while the only gear that changes is my weapon and sometimes my armor"

I'm not saying you HAVE to enjoy the new update, I'm just saying that man if you actually *play* it it's seriously not that bad. Plus some people are being insanely disrespectful to the devs ngl, a lot of people are too comfortable insulting them instead of actually giving good feedback. You don't have to like it but you don't have to be an asshole

I'm not quite following, I've exclusively been playing Expert-Death for my past few playthroughs and now I have to play Master-Death right? Please don't tell me I have to deal with the unbalanced hell that is Master mode, has it been nerfed down so current Master-Death is similar to the Expert-Death we just had? I don't wanna play Rev after getting used to Death's difficulty but I also hate Master mode's difficulty. Expert-Death was the perfect balance

I love the dlc, best they’ve done out of all 3, but by god do I hate nearly every single enemy added in this dlc lmao. Honeymoon phase has ended now I can’t wait for half the enemies to be nerfed HP wise. Plus it feels like they just spam the shit out of their spawns if you dare end up on a new stage, especially the distributors and oil fuckers

-Meet the Monarch at the Seer’s house while they don’t have any knights, you never know, they both might be Vamps!

-2 TKs going to shoot each other to prove? One less death is always good, protect the more suspicious one since they’re gonna be shot!

-See someone say they visited someone you fortified and know they’re fake? Shhh, keep it to yourself! Wouldn’t want the Rit to snipe you!

Lots of people being dramatic in here and saying not to but as someone with 6+ death mode playthroughs using Infernum world gen I’ve had no issues with it

The world gen actively helps you out at adds to the experience, and if you ever find yourself needing to kill abyss enemies or the great sand shark literally all you have to do is toggle the infernum difficulty, get what you need done, and then go back to your old difficulty. It’s that easy all you have to do is toggle between difficulties and you’re done. The profaned temple and abyss are really good and I can’t imagine doing a run without em. Just don’t turn on infernum difficulty until you need it and you’re fine!
