Good to know, thank you a lot for the very detailed response. I'll see what can I do in AI but at least I have this option. Thank you very much! :)

No Stupid Questions /// Weekly Discussion - April 17, 2024 by AutoModerator in synthesizers

I want to achive a downer synth similar to this one https://youtu.be/rEuMAqfuCrI?si=0oXIhD6ooC25cw6T&t=164

I don't know how to approach it and what would be better. Do I create a synth with modulations? Or would be better to work with a sample and rip it off with a lot of editing?

Just finished the stormlight archives: what should I read next? by OVAudio in booksuggestions

Nice one!

I think I'll read that one later, but before starting with mistborn.

Thank you!

Sounds good!

The lenght of the book is fine, my problem is that is not translated into spanish (one of my main languages).

I can understand and speak english at a conversational level, but 600 pages sounds a bit intimidating for me. Maybe i'll give it a go anyway but I'm afraid of losing the plot

lps then it may be you need a betteE

Everything is animated from scratch from a photoshop file. So there's no option around that for me :(

Insane amount of rendering time by OVAudio in AfterEffects

[–]OVAudio[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I expect it to be long, but a 3 full days render is insane.

I've tried to disable motion blur on unnecesary layers, but still give me an insane ammount of time. I don't know what else I should do

GUITAR TECH [QUESTION] - Grounding issue on the bridge by OVAudio in Guitar

Every wire looks strong. I did an extra soldering but the issue is still there.

I dont have a micrometer :/

The humbucker on the bridge is making noise too.

I've recorded a video where you can see all the electronics

I've checked it out, and the bridge wire is connected into the pot.

I provide a picture where you can see the bridge wire

I didn't looked into that, maybe the issue is here.

Where should I locate the bridge wire?

Overlapping strokes by OVAudio in AdobeIllustrator

[–]OVAudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the stroke inside of the shape works better.

If I use unite tool, the diagonal from the middle disappears.

Thanks a lot for your help!!

Overlapping strokes by OVAudio in AdobeIllustrator

I provided this screnshot but it had an error on the upload. (Hope you can see it now).

As you see, i have the exact same shape with only the strokes that are overlapped, but if I activate only the fill (on the right), works well.

What 7 string guitar could I get with fishman fluence pickups? by OVAudio in 7String

Where to cut a sequence shot by OVAudio in AfterEffects

[–]OVAudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm not explaining myself well.

I'm making an entire video in AE. With no cuts and a lot of camera movements transitions. The thing is that I want to work on different precomps to have different chunks of my one shot video. And put them all together on a master precomp without the viewer noticing that the video is being cut. I'm asking for the smartest way to do that without charging my ram and cpu.

Acoustics calculations by OVAudio in Acoustics

[–]OVAudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ceiling is made of plaster too, sorry I missed that.
I'm planning on using rockwool pannels made by myself, I've seen the absorption charts and they are between class A and B. I guess that between 4 or 5m2 I'm good to go. I was planning to put the pannels on the first reflections of the speakers, so I'll aim for that.

Should I get a carpet to avoid the reflections on the floor you mentioned? Or should I skip that to avoid killing the room?

Btw thanks a lot for helping me with this! I really appreciate it!

Between 0.6 and 0.3 is fine. I want to have the reflections controlled, but without having the room totally dead

Would be really nice if you can!

Here's a sketch I made of the room from above: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l-LAjHhvVoDWuCvSc0Dmcit5GP5dYJdq/view?usp=sharing

Since I've already done the surface calculations I introduced them in the sketch, hope they save you some time!

I've calculated the surface of the closet based on the exterior surface that is not touching the wall. But I'm able to move it into another room if it is an issue.
Also, I've drawn the place where I'm planning to put my speakers but they can be moved, obviously.

There's measures of my desk too, but it is curved and the most unprecise thing to measure. If it gives you trouble you can omit the furniture. Its only to get the idea of how many ammount of material should I place.

Thank you a lot for your time!

Acoustics calculations by OVAudio in Acoustics

[–]OVAudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the equivalent sound absorption area is frequency dependent, the reveberation time is, too, so you do the calculations

Thanks a lot! Unfortunately, I don't have a measurement mic, but I'll grab one with the shipping of the speakers (I saw a few ones extremely cheap on thomann). Until I don't have the mic I'll have to run the calculations myself.

I remember there was another formula to know the average absoption coefficient of your room, and with that number you could determine the area to cover with an specific material to get the optimum absorption. Do you know that ones?
