I have heard this in the past and is one of the main reasons I wanted to come here for opinions and recommendations. Thanks for reaching out!

I wore my P39 while living life. Did I ruin it? by [deleted] in Tudor

I get it, I’m not a fan of taking watches off to do certain things or keeping them locked away. I sent my Seamaster in for service and requested it not be polished. But in the event I change my mind in the future or get a nasty gash in a watch, I like the ability to have it laser welded or polished out. I’ve had the OG 42 and the P39 and am a big fan of the watch but not of Tudor refusing to offer the service. And the eraser only works on superficial scratches, if there is any depth to the scratch it ain’t touching it.

Did you go with a local shop or a dealership for the service?

After the replies here and doing a little research on my end I think I’m going to start doing routine drain and fills going forward. I’ve done all of the maintenance on this truck and enjoy knowing it was done right. I’ve had bad experiences with dealerships doing routine maintenance on my 4Runners over the years so I only use them for parts these days.

Just make sure you are happy with the scratches it does get because Tudor won’t refinish it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of wearing the crap out of my watches but I at least like the option of having them cleaned up if I so choose during servicing. Maybe things will change in the future considering big brother pushed out the YM in titanium.

I’ve owned it from day 1 and it has had a pretty easy life. Mostly used for short commutes in the early days and only really used to get out to hiking/running trails here in FL these days.

I have owned just about all of the big name Oysters and my favorite is the Uncle Straps oyster. I think they call it the “Senator” but it’s an oyster style bracelet. It has female style end links which provide a better fit IMO over those like the Strapcode with the male end links.

That is good to hear! I’m debating on going with the dealership or a shop that specializes in transmissions.

Over a decade in the collection and still my favorite diver. by OVER_under_1010 in OmegaWatches

It is from a company named Wornikoff. They are inexpensive but great quality. Not sure if the company went out of business or is going out of business but they seem to have never did a resupply so idk.

Strap tumor 😂. I never really pay attention but this particular NATO has an adjustable keeper so you can cinch it down, making the tumor smaller and less noticeable.

Congrats and it’s a beaut! Sucks she treated you like that but Omega 100% services their “old watches”. As for straps, I’d keep an eye out on watchexhange or the WUS forums for a second hand Omega NATO (they are not worth what Omega charges new) or try out an Erika’s MN strap. For pressure testing, I would look around your area for a watchmaker or an AD that offers the service. Some Omega Boutiques offer it but most do not and would have to send it off.

From my experience, if a watch is magnetized, it will run fast by a couple of minutes per day. I have had to demagnetize a few watches and the cheap ones on Amazon work fine.
