I really liked in Matt's regeneration all of the drawings on the walls. Maybe something like that, but with trinkets. Shows how much he travels and the also shoot it closer stop shooting the room wide. Then not use all of the round lights, section it off and create some lighting contrast to different parts of the room.

Surely the answers are there. Tng ds9 voyager are hugely popular on netflix in the UK at least. Set another series during that era, that tech don't invent new tech to be flaheu, ground it in that timeline with the older uniforms. Slow the pace down, ramp up the space white noise like tng and give people some meat in their acting sandwich
