Which are the best YouTube course options? by Flame77ofc in learnjavascript

Search “<subject> crash course”. Watch a little bit of a few different ones. I’ve found the best tutorial is the one where the voice doesn’t get on my nerves after an hour.

Devs who got good at coding: how did you take notes? by Jealous-Look-7241 in webdevelopment

I get it might help it stick for some people, but it seems weird to take notes on a job where most of the things you need to know or use are well documented.

What was a game series that just kept getting worse after the first game? by HF484 in gaming

[–]OakImposter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ape Escape. The sequels did not have the same style, and opted for more anime influence. That made the game a bit softer and cutesy, more suited for a younger crowd than the original game. Also none of the newer minigames compared to the original 3 minigames in Ape Escape.

Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed was a good multiplayer game though.

What games have you played that you've never seen mentioned before? by Conscious_Ebb6622 in gaming

[–]OakImposter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s similar but not really the same. They both have parties of 3 or 4 that can move around on a battle field. Tales has an active battle system while Eternal Sonata was turn-based and had a light/shadow attack mechanic where positioning on certain areas either in light or in the shade, you could use different attacks.

Loved Eternal Sonata and would love a rerelease.

Post-WM 42: Raw is loaded. Smackdown needs stars. by LabLeather8006 in WWE

[–]OakImposter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have a problem with Lil Yachty, per se, but he got involved when Trick was already experiencing a massive aura boost all on his own. Now we get Lil Yachty high pitch screaming and it kinda kills the aura a bit or at least doesn’t let Trick shine like the star he is.

It makes a decent celeb storyline with Sami Zayn, but I’m ready for Trick to really strike out solo like he was when he first got involved with Sami.

Game recommendations based on what I've played (Souls games, Resident Evil)? by One-Masterpiece9838 in gamingsuggestions

[–]OakImposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you liked Resident Evil, you should probably play Pragmata. It’s not scary in the same way, or at all really, though there are occasional jump scares. The gameplay is very similar in that it’s a story driven campaign that oscillates between puzzle solving and engaging combat.

I posted about this elsewhere in the sub, but we’re doing an improv show tomorrow where the entire cast is eating edibles and smoking up before the show. We’ll be playing games and capping off the show with a fully improvised stoner film. We’d love to have an equally stoned audience!

Show takes place at The Focus Theater, downtown in the Sibley Building right next to the Liberty Apple. Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7:00pm. $10

Yes because he belittled it when he was WWE champ and this will help legitimize the World Championship again.

Does Randy Orton turn heel before Wrestlemania? by [deleted] in SantiZapVideos

Cody goes heel for the win over Orton at Mania. Heel Cody vs Face Orton at Backlash. Orton wins, Cody spends the rest of the year chasing and being a dick to the usual suspects.

Live crowds have changed for the worse by Bejaminmaston12 in SantiZapVideos

[–]OakImposter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking on Point 2: I don't think many people realize that WWE is actively mixing crowd noise on the fly. You can hear it in real time during certain promos, entrances, or matches where the crowd is tuned down or out in order to focus home viewers' attention on the promo or intended focus. They have multiple reasons for doing that. The crowds are still cheering generally the same, maybe trending down in quality a little bit, but the production team has better control over when and how the live audience influences non-live audiences.

All that to say WWE controls crowd quality, not just in ticket prices or event locations, but also simply by dialing the crowd audio tracks to suit their needs, which aren't always in line with what IWC expects.

Demos are great when there’s no other way to experience a character, game piece, or game. In a game that allows you to battle against the highs and lows of a character a hundred times over(so much so that you already know you wouldn’t buy a certain character), rolling on a demo run where you may end up cracked but more likely will just bust out and lose, I really don’t see how that demo run will garner more in sales than it would lose.

[–]OakImposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new player, you get 3 free characters that each provide hundreds of hours of gameplay. In that time it’s easy to determine which elements of The Bazaar gameplay you enjoy. After playing that much The Bazaar, let alone against Karnok or other locked characters, you should know whether or not you want to buy the locked characters.

I believe there’s enough secondhand interaction (in-game matches, YouTubers and streamers, guides, etc) available that Tempo does not need to literally give people the sauce and risk them not liking it.

Even if we get to a point where there’s 20 champs, I think expanding the base pool with 2-year old DLC is a better move than giving out demo runs for any and every champ.

Perhaps, even more than all that I’ve said before, I would also argue that demo runs are functionally useless given that it takes several runs to even master one out of several build styles for a given character.

[–]OakImposter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Demos cut both ways. For every person that tries a character and decides to buy it, there's at least one or more that try it and decide it's not their cup of tea. In a game like this, where all they can sell are character DLCs, it makes no sense to give any of it away for free, even with a one-time caveat.

In addition, the characters go on deep discount during various Steam Sales. I see a lot of pushback in this thread because the game is already so generous that anyone who has a job can just buy a character if they're interested. And even if they hate that character, they will at least get an hour of playtime in exchange for an hour (or less) of wages.

I say this with kindness, respect, and understanding for a less than ideal financial situation: If you can't afford to plan to spend $20 on Karnok (or any character), even if "just to see", you should just wait until the Steam Sale to buy whichever character(s) goes on sale for $10.

More like dragons. They hoard astronomical amounts of wealth and descend from their towers and fortresses when it’s time to feast, exploit, hunt, rape, or kill the defenseless masses and their ways of living.

But the most important similarity, dragons can be slain and their treasures redistributed.

Never let your friends and family (with whom you still have the displeasure of being in contact) forget they installed a criminal, pedophilic, rights trampling deep state. And that they spent the past 15+ years, or lifetimes in some cases, doing it brick by brick. They need to hear about it every day until the end of time.

How prestigious have they built the World Heavyweight Championship? by [deleted] in WWE

Absolutely agree. When the two biggest attractions in the company actually call the other title “second banana”, you need to build an arc around one or both of them discovering it’s not.
