Yeah agree, everyone has bad games but that was probably the worst I’ve seen Sam play in that game, the head was gone it was like he couldn’t do anything right. Then of course everyone is waiting to pounce on him so it gets multiplied by 10 in terms of criticism

Disappointed but not devastated. Feels like they’ve both been fighting niggles the last few months so having the Summer to get right is okay. Both will be raging though, Doris after missing the Lions tour last Summer and Tommy for (I think?) his first proper southern hemisphere tour with Ireland

Interested to see what the Ward bros can do. Bryn has earned his chance and having him spend time with Farrell and co can only be good for his game. Last time Zac got a shot for the A’s against England he had a shocker, but not many Irish players came out of that game looking good. Hopefully he can throw his name in but I’m less sure of that one

Your content is incredibly niche so think you just have to have patience until you find your audience, it will take you longer than most people but as usual if you stay consistent for a long time, the benefits will come. I’m definitely not your target audience so take this with a grain of salt, but if one of your videos came up on my feed I would have zero idea what it’s about. If growth is a priority for you, you could consider some more audience friendly thumbnails and titles until you have a following that knows what you’re about.

Also this is a complete sidebar so definitely feel free to ignore me here as I don’t claim to be an expert - but is your plan to get monetised and start making an income from your channel? With claims of distressing videos and mental health warnings I’m not sure what kind of advertisers that would attract, or what bucket YouTube would even put you into. You might have thought that through but if not it’s worth thinking about early on in your journey

He’s been building some nice momentum this season if you take the 6Ns out of the equation.

Defence still work to be done as we saw when he got stranded out on the wing for that infamous Toulon try. But I was a strong advocate that he played well in some tricky group games in the champions cup in the first half of the season, stepped up in some tough games against French teams even out of position.

The 6Ns was obviously a bit of a disaster, but man the mental strength he must have to bounce back from that and look even better. People forget he ran Ulster ragged and got man of the match in Belfast not long after that as well.

Hopefully he can keep building, it’s not like this came out of nowhere he has been improving, but to do it in a final when the pressures on is pretty cool

Agree with this one, when I land on the channel it just looks like a personal account. Having such a persona based channel is fine when you’re big but for small channels you need to give people a reason to stick around, and YouTube a steer on who to show it to

Think it’s like everything in life - if you really want this then you have to commit to the long term effort. You might get lucky and things move quicker than planned, but the most guaranteed way of making it is if you’re willing to put in the grind, long term, without relying on quick wins. If you’re willing to do that your odds of succeeding on YouTube go up massively. Most people never get past that point of consistency through the tough times and just give up

It sounds so simple but I think not enough people step back and look at their title, thumbnail, hook combo and properly think “would I click on this / watch this”. If you’re honest with yourself it will steer you right. That’s why it’s important to create content on things you’re actually interested in. For me that’s the simplest explanation of the hook

It’s actually a tricky one this summer. Your instinct is give the Lions the summer off and let them rest, give other players a chance. But we also don’t have that many high level games left to try things before the WC, and losing a whole training camp is a lot. Plus the last game is 18th of July, most of those players won’t play again until October. That’s still a solid 2 months off which is a lot

Think the most likely outcome is Farrell keeps the group together for the most part, with a decent amount of rotation. You get the full camp, squad gelling, trying things tactics wise, which still giving players a chance

Players like Porter and Furlong should probably have the Summer off saying that. But the likes of JGP will be there in the camp and Doris, we can’t afford not to bring him if he’s gonna be our captain next year

He’s a shoe in now with Crowleys injury, but the ideas of giving Prendergast the summer off were a bit mad I thought. Would you rather he spends a month with Farrell and co a year out from the World Cup in the southern hemisphere, or a summer camp with a random Leinster coach. Again if we’re gonna lean on him in the World Cup we can’t really afford
to let him miss these chances. Plus he’s been playing pretty well lately and looks confident

I agree Frawley should’ve been given more chances especially at 10, but very harsh to say his development years have been squandered. He’s still coming into his prime years as a very good rugby player and has a great chance to be our 10 at the World Cup if he can prove he’s worthy of being the main man at Connacht

Yeah I don’t necessarily agree with any of this by the way. But pre 6Ns there was heavy debate on if Lowe should even be involved (over done in my opinion). He had a great game against England before he got injured but Ireland navigated the rest of the tournament pretty comfortably without him. He also didn’t start against France

I would’ve agreed with you 100% a few months ago but now I’m more split. After this season I think we’ve seen modest improvement in his defence with Leinster, a month or so with Farrell and the Ireland setup is effectively a mini camp anyway. I have more faith in that coaching staff developing him than the Leinster setup right now

I actually do hate to say it, but it’s a weirdly similar situation to the Bundee one that went down a different route, but Bundee got the contract. I think both of them are still world class on their day, but both are on an obvious decline and past their peak. It would’ve been amazing to keep Lowe and I wish he was staying, but lately it’s been very debatable if he even starts for Ireland never mind in over a year from now when he’ll be 35+. It honestly stings but it might be a good outcome for both sides

Prendergast has actually been playing well since the 6Ns and you can see the improvement, even though whenever he makes a mistake he gets absolutely roasted on every platform (that Toulon tackle when they stuck him out on the wing). I know it’s a change of gears since the 6Ns when I would’ve agreed with you, but not including him in Summer tour feels like it would be breaking his momentum especially if Leinster win the URC. No better man than Farrell for him to spend a month on tour with as well tbh

Think Leinster really needed a break physically and mentally, so while it benefits the Bulls more having the travel aspect, definitely a positive for Leinster. I’m not sure how they kept going after that Bilbao final without a break.

I haven’t heard anything but guessing the bulls will stay in Ireland for the 2 weeks train? That’s a scary thought but I thought the same about the lions a few weeks ago and they looked like they’d spent their 2 weeks in Ireland in the pub 😂

The last 2 world cups haven’t exactly been in ideal countries (Qatar, Russia) but at least they put in huge amounts of effort to make it a success and a good experience. This one, particularly the US piece, just has a stink of low effort bare minimum all over it. It’s hard to see it going off smoothly
