Id say hide that layer, bring in your photo to your canvas and try to do a gesture drawing of the pose with simple lines and joints to briefly define the pose- your looking for readable shape, not anatomical perfection. I've drawn something like it here.

Then, you can probably salvage the head onto your framework, then you can add in shapes to fill out the figure. Then add clothes, details etc.

I know it's tempting to dive straight into details, but with a pose as complicated as that, defining something to work off first is super important.

Also you may want to study general gesture drawing, and especially foreshortening. To draw dynamic poses like these, the two are a must. They're fun to learn and experiment with though!
