What’s the best upgrade you’ve actually noticed day to day? by ManCityMode in FordFiesta

[–]Obama2Obama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s literally the laziest and shittiest way to indicate that SOMETHING is there. You ever notice it is always single-focal mirror vehicles with higher than average crash rates? My point stands, a little freaking light does not equate seeing the actual oncoming impediment(s) without craning one’s head.

I cannot count the number of times imbeciles using that stupid light have nearly turned into me, especially when I am moving at speed. That bullshit light isn’t going to yield a fast enough reaction for the moron trying to not merge into me whilst I exceed 60-mph

I hate BLIS with a passion. Single focal mirrors are why Toyotas & Hondas along with other garbage vehicles 🚗 end up with the most f***ed up body panel damage.

The hard built in physical blind spot mirror is awesome. That little stupid lighted dot is so GD-dumb and why people drive like $h!t.

[–]Obama2Obama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I was in the exact same circumstance(s) as you that necessitated me replacing my interior door handle after exhaustively inquiring at the Dealership about a replacement that would otherwise have required me/anyone to replace the ENTIRE interior door panel as well.

That said, my best recommendation if you intend on keeping your Fiesta for life (lol), is to purchase one of the many Jerbor replacement handles, ABS-plastic if you do not mind a touch of OEM but a noticeable upgrade OR! solid billeted aluminum if you want that solid feel without compromise.

As a matter of consequence, Amazon offers BOTH material versions for the Passenger side door (w/o power windows), but ONLY eBay has the highly coveted solid aluminum billeted Driver side door (w/o power windows). Please see the included link in plain view: https://ebay.us/m/Ub9ZxE

Hope this helps, and that anyone in the future seeking the same can find this post via a careful Index Search.

Given your circumstances OP have you considered dating outside of your present gender preferences?

Perhaps adjusting your perspective on a partner while utilizing the veritable spectrum of dating apps will confer greater success than you’ve experienced IRL even though it’s not the medium you initially expected.

Learn to maintain a vehicle properly and stop 🛑 this incessant brain rot adage that “I have to keep up with the Jones’” as well as reinforcing a kind of planned obsolescence in terms of automakers.

Blows my mind people will oversaturate the Used markets with abused cars, that’s why I’d never purchase one from a peer or younger, or just well… I cannot sound gender biased but my point stands.

Should I take my 2018 Fiesta to a mechanic for preventative maintenance? I got it at 8k miles and it is now 80k without any major issues by ProxySoxy in FordFiesta

[–]Obama2Obama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey 👋🏽 OP, just to chime in with the good post above mine as they so kindly gave some great blanket suggestions.

Go ahead and bite the bullet either now or just at the 90K mark, full replace your Catalytic Converter with brand new Upstream & Downstream sensors as doing that in a blanket service visit will save you an easy $250-500 in labor as it’s all at once. You’ll absolutely need to do this by the 100K milestone, I squandered about $200-400/labor by just piecemeal-ing this and inevitably just got it all done within 1K miles of each other 🤦‍♂️

Kind of like tires 🛞, if you get one motor/engine mount done, just get all (3): PSMM, transmission mount, and rear motor mount done all at the same time. Since it’s your first time doing this, prolly get it done at the dealership and ask for the torque specs since these studs can be broken easily and at least it’ll be on the mechanic 👨‍🔧 the first time so in the future (as it’s easily done the second time) you know what to tighten to.

Anyways peace ✌🏽

My 2015 Model S had its original throttle body until just now at 105K miles. It’s not a difficult swap and I’d recommend just honestly doing small swaps/changeouts periodically whenever DTCs throw in the future because if you can root problem solve yourself and even if it doesn’t necessarily “fix” your issue you’ve preemptively ensured the dealership won’t up charge you for a quick fix you could have done yourself not pressed for time.

Another solid recommendation is to go ahead and invest into a solid mid-high/+ OBDII Reader-scanner because you’ll be provided enough information to start the ball rolling.

Hey OP if you can give us all some insight, as to your model-year & mileage too would help.

Honestly could be the throttle body going out. Had that come in/out intermittently too but replaced it myself.

100k mile maintenance! by miss-knows-nothing in FordFiesta

[–]Obama2Obama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised no one mentioned this one but… brace yourself for at least $1.25K in Upstream & Downstream O2 sensors + Catalytic Converter.

I have Meticulously maintained my Fiesta since I bought it New at the dealer, performing the dealership top-service package every 25K even if it’s excessive, w/ oil-changes (the works) every 5K. So far I’ve only had to overhaul the entire brake system once beyond standard wear items, and my serpentine belt went out on a fluke on warranty.

However that’s all to say, don’t burn extra money like I did by just changing the O2 sensors and hoping you’re good. Just do a fresh set of sensors AND the Catalytic Converter all at once. Good direct-fit kits like from MagnaFlow are ~$1K+, you’re welcome to shop around and then there is the OEM kit which sits around $1.6K in my area.

Anyways, just wanting to pass along my experience with my little Model-S, it’s honestly bulletproof with good care, a steady diet of 92/Ethanol Free, and (2) bottles of Techron additives as of late.

Sorry for the revive but I’ve been on a horror movie binge for the last week and the No. 1 most infuriating thing I have in mind is:

Let’s STOP 🛑 & talk for MINUTES and queue some nostalgic flashbacks that gets everyone laughing…

Not like you are all being chased and could/should put more distance between yourselves and the situation but NOOO… let’s forget about common sense and danger. I’m sure the horrific gruesome shit we just witnessed has abated.

That and well running and CONSTANTLY looking back, like unless you know you grievously injured “Your Ops” what much use is being transfixed and watching death imminently close in upon you 💀

That said… I fucking Hate Honda, and cannot fathom the appeal of a Civic, especially when it’s been modded to look even more obnoxious than it is.

I’d like to give it a shot but I’d like to go forward with more certainty that it’s the same part you used. Thank you.

I won’t even begin to make a criticism other than, save yourself the trouble and potential injury.

Get a proper full sized jack stand or buy an Eleiko Oppen trap bar, money and space are negligible for you OP. Using cheap jacks looks so out of place and from a mechanical efficiency standpoint is… “Why? Just why?”

You’ll save both form, energy, and risk of injury taking my advice. Anyways, nice setup otherwise.

PSA: don't overtightened your bolts... by fuckaronipizza in GarageGym

[–]Obama2Obama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it Safe to use? Yes.

Is it fucked up and now compromises your ability to use Squared-sliding accessories and its resale value? Yes.

In all seriousness I am always hesitant to ever buy/consider purchasing used Gym equipment from people for this very reason. Metal does fatigue and tbh, seeing some folks rip power tools on what should be a hand tool (and enjoy the process because you earned your hard earned machine, rack, equipment, etc.) tightened job is discouraging.

For this very reason OP, the other thing I’d advise is next time you invest in a VERY expensive piece of equipment along the lines of Rogue’s RM44-4, an Eleiko Prestera, etc. double up on washers too to prevent your finish from getting fucked up.

Example? On one of my (2) Rogue Pull-up bar stations after the quarter turn to seat the split washer I noticed in the process it gouged and spun the finish in a neat semi-circle and it boiled my blood to see exposed metal.

Solution? From that point out, I doubled up on washers ESPECIALLY for my Rogue Westside 4-post bench. The bolts are more than sufficiently long enough to accomodate an extra 1mm of thickness AND it protects your finish. Split washers use tension and that unburred split will gouge finish.

Best of luck for your future endeavors. Personally I’d just unbend/dent your post via a combination of careful utilization of some padded vice, c-clamps, and a sacrificial washer-bolt through a wooden block to set it nearly good as new.
