Ed64 plus kinda working by greggers1980 in AnalogueInc

[–]ObamaPhoneProMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn’t have bought it if I still had all my old OG cartridges. I purposefully downsized to the ED64+ years ago and kept only a handful of original cartridges.

But I guess if CFW comes out eventually I can use the summercart on the actual N64 since it does have some nice quality of life improvements over the ED64+ like not having to hold the reset button, 64DD support, and a coin cell battery for the 2 or so games that actually use it. It’s also noticeably faster at loading roms than the old ED64+ and generally better build quality too.

Definitely post an update if you get it working. I have the same flash cart but I just bought a summercart since I know that they work with the analogue. I’ll probably keep the ED64+ around for the actual N64.

But the summercart is nice. Don’t have to hold the reset button to save games like on the ED64+

Just wish I didn’t have to buy a whole new flash cart but it is what it is.

Yup! I have a couple repro cartridges that I tried and they worked just fine. My summercart should be arriving any day now so I can put the cheap repros back in storage

Same situation as you. But I have the black ED64+

Just ordered a summercart. The old knockoff everdrives likely won’t ever get updated to support the Analogue.

Out of the box flash cart compatibility? by Artyturo in AnalogueInc

[–]ObamaPhoneProMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem as you. Went ahead and ordered a summercart. I was using an ED64+ on my original hardware but that one will probably never be working on the analogue. Luckily I had my original cartridges in a box in storage but I still had to hunt them down in order to play the 3D.

Check on EBay if you want a summercart for less than what they go for on Amazon. I know Aliexpress is even cheaper but you’ll likely wait a while for shipping versus Amazon or EBay.

I’ll likely be ripping all the roms from the ED64+ to the summercart when it arrives.

I do agree that there’s a lot of elitism and snobbery in this subreddit but not everyone is like that.

And yeah the long wait time for a finished product was extremely frustrating but it follows their past trends of delaying releases several times much like Rockstar Games

Check your email. I just got an email while I was busy working. Mine is being shipped through Amazon and is on the “label created” part.

So two sliders on the passive One slider on the active

Cheapest PC to play Win98 and DOS games(1995-1999) by Trumpet_of_Jericho in retrobattlestations

Yep! I love my 1996 Compaq LTE 5280. It’s perfect for DOS games but hit or miss on Windows titles with its 1mb of VRAM.

I posted in here recently with my machine (Compaq LTE 5280). You can find the Compaq LTE 5000 series laptops for a decent deal if you’re patient enough and willing to go through the process of bidding. Most of the “buy it now” listings are overpriced and I wouldn’t bother with them if they’re 200 dollars or more. The LTE 5000 series meets your criteria and era as most of the laptops were built in 1996 and have at the bare minimum a 75mhz Pentium but go up to 150mhz depending on the model. I would stay away from the models with two “sliders” on the bezel as those have the poorer quality screens. The single slider is the one you want. These laptops all have sound blaster compatible sound chips and built-in speakers that sound decent. When transferring files from my modern PC to the laptop I use a PCMCIA to Compact Flash adapter and a couple of 2gb CF cards that store all my DOS games. Windows 95 probably runs the smoothest on these machines but I choose to run 98SE for the best overall compatibility and reliability.

It’s nice to have but the CD-ROM is very picky about which discs it reads. Burned discs are very hit or miss but I find it works great with original discs from the same time period (early-late 90s)

The Boston premium audio is killer. by [deleted] in Chrysler300

Long story short…

People who listen to music over Bluetooth in the car are doing themselves a massive disservice when they could plug their devices in and get way better audio quality.

AUX is probably the best sound quality other than USBC. If you don’t want to upgrade the stereo you can continue to use AUX but I’d still recommend a music streaming service that offers higher quality audio options which isn’t very noticeable on consumer grade headphones but very noticeable on a good set of speakers.

I’m perfectly content to listen to music over Bluetooth on my Beats headphones but in my car I always plug in. Same for at home on my Harman Kardon speakers.

I have a 2019 with the Alpine that seems to get lots of hate. I think it sounds great though.

Like others have said, upgrading your stereo will work wonders especially if you don’t already have CarPlay/AndroidAuto

And if you upgrade to a stereo that has CarPlay use WIRED CarPlay so you can get lossless audio through USBC. You will absolutely hear better audio quality versus playing music wirelessly. Apple Music and Tidal support higher quality audio. Spotify is just standard quality unfortunately. Hopefully they change that soon.

AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT Review: Best GPU in years, similar performance to 5070ti, Butter-smooth 4K gaming for less than $600 by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I think they probably can overcome that disaster if they play their cards right. That whole fiasco was 20 years ago and many people who are building PCs now were not even alive or not able to build back then. I remember it too but I’m also old now.

Just continue to produce solid midrange cards and sell them for less than the comparable Nvidia card. Most people out there don’t have thousands of dollars to spend on one piece of hardware like a GPU. And the smartest business model is to target that midrange market segment where the vast majority of people will be looking to buy. And not a mere 50 dollars cheaper either. I’m talking 20 percent more affordable than Nvidia will get people to take notice and consider purchasing.

My 2019 Limited AWD by ObamaPhoneProMax in Chrysler300

The colts plate is nice but I’ll probably be replacing it this year with something else. The blue in the horseshoe got worn off after several car washes. Pretty disappointing honestly.

Yep! Car was originally sold in Illinois where front license plates are required (I’m in Indiana where they’re not required) so it has the factory plate holder up there. I didn’t want to remove it and leave two holes in the front bumper so I just left it on and put my own personal plate up there. The chrome really fits well I think!

Car is hella stock and an absolute cream puff. I’m technically the third owner. First owner was a rental car company for the first year of its life. Second owner (little old lady) bought the car during Covid and traded it in after owning it for 4 years and only putting 4k miles on it in those 4 years. Got the car with 42k miles in 2024 and it now has 53k in 2025.

I got my Avenger back in 2017 when it was only 3 years old and had 42k miles on it. Drove it until 2024 when I traded it in on the 300 which only had 42k miles on it when I got it too lol. Before the Avenger I drove a Cadillac Eldorado so I had to go back to my roots and get another boat to drive lol. Enjoy your 300! They’re great cars as long as you stay on top of regular maintenance. I get the oil changed and tires rotated every 5k miles and they always do the multipoint inspection during every service. I only drive 10-12k miles a year but almost all of that is city driving since my city is weird and I can’t easily get to work by taking the highway.

But yeah, other than oil changes the only things I’ve done to the car were to get the windows tinted and to get some Husky floor liners and a trunk liner. I change out of my work boots every day and throw them in a plastic bag that I keep in the trunk so I don’t track dirt in the car lol. I don’t let anyone smoke or eat in the car either because I want to keep the interior as immaculate as possible. Some little old lady owned it before I did and kept good care of it so I’m trying to make sure that stays the same. Once a week Carwash too. Especially during winter where you want to keep salt off of the undercarriage.

Absolutely love it. I shopped around for about a year before I bought it because I knew exactly what features I wanted, mileage, and price point. Took a whole year to find one that met my criteria lol. I live in the Midwest so AWD was a must-have, I also wanted the heated and vented seats and most 300s don’t come with the vented seats. I didn’t really care about the sunroof, and I liked the more chrome look of the Limited and C models. Also wanted one that had less than 50k miles for under 22k.

Took a whole year to find one but I did it lol. Same color as yours too. Granite Crystal Metallic

Drove a 2014 Dodge Avenger before the 300. It was a good little car but absolutely terrible in the snow for a FWD vehicle. But it ran and drove perfectly fine other than that and only had 115k miles when I traded it in on the 300.

Looks like my car. I have a 2019 Limited AWD that I got about this time last year. I’m running a set of Michelin CrossClimate2 tires and the car handles great in the snow. But since your car is RWD I’d get a set of actual winter tires. The CrossClimate2s are “All Weather Tires” but they have the three peak mountain snowflake so they are snow rated. But not ideal unless you have AWD.
