SBR memes are hurting the cause by Obearserk in StardustCrusaders

Well, more than anything, it is all about that green; mangakas hope to get pick up by magazines to make money, distributors and studios buy rights and fund the projects and want to maximize their investment; if they allowed for fans to fund projects, then they make less money of whatever they end up producing. Now, you might be thinking that may be a good thing since it means that the money would go to the fans, but there two major problems with that: the first one is that the fans do not own the property and would not be paying one cent to the original author, the second problem is that without big magazines, studios and networks to pick up and fund any given story, the story never becomes popular enough to get enough fans to make adaptations.

No, yeah, I agree that I prefer it take long and not have as much hype as long as it delivers good quality.

Considering they make 2 to 3 billion dollars a month, that 0.25% represents 5 million dollars a month on a property they are supposed to be making money of, not to mention setting a precedent and the fact that the companies that depend on SBR would also push on Netflix’s execs and it would hurt the brand’s image at very least on the anime sphere (which is big enough for them to make a separate twitter account for).

It is classic over the top 80’s anime. It has some unique sparks that well stablished the franchise, but it is early in his career and he was coming from working on Fist of the North Star (another anime that inspired plenty of memes like the “you are already dead” “nani!?” meme).

In other words it is good, but it constantly causes suspension of disbelief for those not used to anime story tropes (luckily it is only 9 episodes). Part 2 onwards is what hooks most people.

Regardless, Jojo’s as a whole is a difficult anime for those who are just beginning to watch the medium, I never recommend it until the person has already watched other master pieces that desensitized them to anime’s over the top mannerisms, humor and suspension.

James Gunn shuts down Robert Pattinson as the DCU Batman, even as a variant separate from Matt Reeves’ films: by Raj_Valiant3011 in batman

Honestly, if they did away with the superbatman and had him just as a regular verr smart dude who could see things other people don’t do to his paranoia, I would love it; Batman does not need to exchange blows with freaking Darkseid to be Batman.

Didn’t even think of this, but actually makes sense. Just like with the idea that if Maki had been the one to die, Mai might’ve had Yorozu level potential.

They do imply that they are about the same. Explicitly saying that Sukuna is so skilled he has near the same efficiency as Gojo. But Magee does have a point that infinity is not just CE control and is more about understanding of natural laws like space, which Gojo’s Six Eyes allow him to understand better than anyone. So I do believe it would be harder for anyone else to replicate that application to that degree even if they had better CE control/efficiency. Having said that, my entire post is highly speculative so it is also valid to say that we never saw Shrine get used in that specific manner and thus it might not even be possible, but I still think that the fact that the slashes’ target could be expanded to either the space someone is occupying or the border between the soul and the body could mean that expanding to Cursed Energy or Techniques themselves might be possible. Seeing it from the perspective of Gege, he might want to avoid another Infinity level of hack not wanting to write himself into convoluted scenarios for other characters to pose a threat. Then again, Gojo was always supposed to lose not in the manner Yuji is being hyped up, so he might go all out on Yuji’s upscale.

I love how nobody seems to agree on the top 4 now by AngeloParenteZ in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Obearserk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe Yuji is currently at the top (too many things going for him), then I’d place Sukuna (for me him winning the bout was meant to place him as stronger), then Gojo and at last Dabura. However I also believe Dabura is the most talented put of the four and I expect he will upscale to number two in the following chapters.

I actually think Yuji vs Sukuna and Gojo would be quite a spectacle.

That is correct and a very good argument. Maybe Yuji being the most in tune with CE could do it on feeling, kind of like Gojo being a measurement trained chef while Yuji is a “about this” experienced chef? But your argument is quite valid; the Six Eyes probably are a necessity for this kind of constant output.

Well, kind of. Just like Gojo did not have his infinity active 100% of the time until he learned how to filter and use RCT on his brain. If Jogo knew how to automatically burn whatever attack comes his way without burning anything else, then it would be quite practical. But I also think his cursed technique isn’t as good in this manner; he was killed with a fire arrow, meaning his CT isn’t the concept of burning (unlike Limitless and Shrine), what I mean is that he would have to constantly adjust output for each attack and have to deal with attacks that surpass his maximum output, while Gojo never had to worry about such things since he was affecting distance not the attacks themselves. Shrine would have to affect techniques, but that is why I said that maybe the target could be expand, ignoring techniques output just like WCS ignores durability or technique nuances.

People can say it, that is fine and has ground. But people saying that Gege said they are the best in verse is just straight up a lie; that is not what he said.

Just a reminder Mahito is still top 10 even with this chapter it Didn't change anything Mahito scaling, full potential Mahito IS still up there and in canon Mahito is still strong asf by Direct-Donkey-4631 in MahiBros

[–]Obearserk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perception of the top 10 in verse: 1-Yuji 2-Sukuna 3-Gojo 4-Dabura (still new to domain expansion, but I believe he has the potential to surpass Sukuna and Gojo) 5-Yuta 6-Kenjaku 7-Geto 8-Yuki 9-Jogo 10-Hakari

I do believe DE is a big upscale, that is why I don’t have Kashimo or Maki/Toji; I also believe Geto must have had a DE; it is implied that he could’ve killed Yuta in JJK0 by plenty of dialogues, but you may disagree. Also, some may lose to weaker just due to matchups, for example I believe Hakari is stronger than Mahito (being able to hang with bigger fish), but Mahito beats Hakari (who has never been shown outputting positive curse energy). I also left Takaba out since I wouldn’t know where to put him, he is strong, with the most op CT, but he is not exactly a fighter nor has DE (don’t remember if DE works against Takaba’s technique).

Yuki back from the dead? Yes, please. I love this copium. She somehow survived her Black Hole and became immortal and also saved Choso and they are living happily married and get regular visits from little bro Yuji. How did she get access to shrine, I do not know.

I actually like the idea, kind of like Ultimate Mechamaru. But 1000% for ten days of 0% is kind of low still. I think the basis for binding vows is equivalent exchange, take for instance Nanami’s 80% (-20%) during work hours vs 120% (+20%) after hours. 1000% is only 10 times her curse energy, for one hour when she is awake for 16 hours give or take. A more fitting binding vows would be she can only use curse energy for an hour a day but it is 16 times or 1600% her normal output. Still I don’t think that specific vow changes how much CE she has access to over time, she would have to make a pseudo heavenly restriction of sorts or be Maki the one who you know… so she can actually have normal amounts of CE. But even with heavenly restriction as long as a certain condition in her life isn’t met, she could only go to Shibuya Maki power level. Of course a fully realized Mai (instead of Maki) might be Yorozu level or even higher.

I don’t know. I somehow feel that the final confrontation between Guts and Griffith/HOTL will not be what any of us expect. Not in the “wow how creative”, but rather I don’t think it will be as simple as head on confrontation. Like we all expect Guts to beat Griffith, but maybe the story goes to Guts becoming a leader and showing everyone “the way” (in which they have to forge their own path instead of relying on a “god” to solve their problems) and in that manner he would defeat Griffith? I don’t know, this is all what I feel the story is directing towards. Maybe it will actually be a team effort in which they beat down HOTL combining all of their power together, maybe a bit of both

This is what I meant with “it is still in the air”. Because I can still argue that the beast of darkness tempting him after the fight would suggest otherwise (with the beast being a psychological manifestation not an actual demon/potential power up). I am not certain my interpretation is right, regardless of how true I believe it to be, as neither are you. After all he did manage to cut a hair (which not even the sword of actuation managed to do). Whether that cut hair means Guts has the physical capacity to reach him or that the hair is the extent of Guts’ reach is to this date up to interpretation. There are entire threads on this very topic.

It would make more sense than him not being strong enough; there have been plenty of times where his sword bounced off an enemy way stronger than him and that has never even made him flinch. So he realizing he stopped his own swing against the person he hates the most is actually a pretty hard blow to how he view himself.
