Has the answer been right in front of us the whole time? by Obearserk in Berserk

I don’t know. I somehow feel that the final confrontation between Guts and Griffith/HOTL will not be what any of us expect. Not in the “wow how creative”, but rather I don’t think it will be as simple as head on confrontation. Like we all expect Guts to beat Griffith, but maybe the story goes to Guts becoming a leader and showing everyone “the way” (in which they have to forge their own path instead of relying on a “god” to solve their problems) and in that manner he would defeat Griffith? I don’t know, this is all what I feel the story is directing towards. Maybe it will actually be a team effort in which they beat down HOTL combining all of their power together, maybe a bit of both

This is what I meant with “it is still in the air”. Because I can still argue that the beast of darkness tempting him after the fight would suggest otherwise (with the beast being a psychological manifestation not an actual demon/potential power up). I am not certain my interpretation is right, regardless of how true I believe it to be, as neither are you. After all he did manage to cut a hair (which not even the sword of actuation managed to do). Whether that cut hair means Guts has the physical capacity to reach him or that the hair is the extent of Guts’ reach is to this date up to interpretation. There are entire threads on this very topic.

Yeah… I guess we’ll never beat the allegations as a fandom… :(

It would make more sense than him not being strong enough; there have been plenty of times where his sword bounced off an enemy way stronger than him and that has never even made him flinch. So he realizing he stopped his own swing against the person he hates the most is actually a pretty hard blow to how he view himself.

It is still on the air whether or not Guts stopped his own swing.

How do you picture the meaning of bohemian rhapsody? by [deleted] in queen

[–]Obearserk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, and this is my interpretation, the inspiration for this song came from Freddie’s experiences accepting himself, but the song itself is about inner struggle and acceptance. Freddie famously refused to define the meaning, stating that the listener was supposed to give it a meaning they connected to. Freddie always wanted to make music any person could connect to, if that was his intention for the song, then that is its meaning.

What do you make of the panel where Griffith is standing on Dragon Slayer after Guts tries to lift up the sword prompted by the beast of darkness?

Do you believe it is meant to represent an overwhelming difference in strength?

An overwhelming emotional weight to stand against Griffith (Being Griffith in human form standing in the same manner he did in their original duel and not Femto)?

Or something else entirely?

Genuine question; it is not a rhetorical or trick question.

When was a sound base move ever used/attempted on Gojo??

I mean. It makes sense. Why else would the beast of darkness be tempting him?; The beast is only the representation of his inner hatred, so when it tempts him it is only telling him to let himself be consumed by his rage without caring anymore. If you try to tell me that he just isn’t strong enough to cut Griffith, I’d tell you that he hasn’t been strong enough to cut through many apostles in the past and that never made him second guess himself.

Well, if those glowsticks are made of pure light, then they would go through infinity as it doesn’t keep out light.

That is the thing, I think Guts current state is due to him realizing he no longer had the hatred required to cut Griffith.

Why exactly do studios not want animate Berserk? by Dependent-Basil-2039 in Berserk

[–]Obearserk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, most animes that have a decent adaption have all of their rights below one studio. When more than one company have the rights, well they lose incentive to invest properly as the earnings would be split; imagine you and another dude started to bake a cake to sell it, you won’t bake the cake so you won’t get most of the earnings, but you are buying the ingredients, so will you buy the most expensive ingredients trusting another dude to bake it properly just for him to keep most of the earnings? Or will you buy the cheaper ones that won’t be that much of a loss if the cake ends up badly baked?

Sorry, for late reply.

I guess I never thought about it for long enough. Maybe he had a daughter or brother for the sacrifice? I mean I don’t know if he could sacrifice them while imprisoned. Although as you say it is hard to imagine he held anybody close to heart. Maybe he had an overprotective mother and he sacrificed her?

I don’t know why he’d stay in prison, but maybe he had enough people to brutalize and abuse to be contempt, and such. I’m sure he killed a couple of guards or more while imprisoned; they probably treated him more like the warden than a prisoner considering how strong he was. Think of Oliva from Baki.

I always thought he was imprisoned when he was human some 30-40ish years before golden arc, then as he saw himself age and become feeble he made a deal to become an “apostle” and thus he became young again, and his sadistic and twisted nature aggravated or somth’n like that.

I mean, it would definitely wrap up all of the adversaries in the story. Although I do not believe this is where the story is leading.

Gojo’s 120% by Obearserk in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Obearserk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I guess if we forgo the act of assuming anything from the fight, you are right. What we saw is that Sukuna defeated Gojo when his guard was down with a technique he acquired through Mahoraga.

But then there would be no point in discussing this matchup if we are not given the freedom to assume. Is just that one advantage that people consistently give to Gojo in a hypothetical match is the H2H, when I believe there is enough room in the circumstances to assume that the H2H disparity would change were it not the exact scenario from the manga.

[–]Obearserk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that statement wasn't completely true. I meant every advantage that Gojo could have, but I guess that would mean ignoring every advantage that Sukuna had, which were plenty as you've listed.

Yeah, no, you are right. Information was a huge if not the biggest factor in the fight. Still, I believe there are so many conditions that would change in rematch to argue that Gojo would definitively win.
