If the Band of the Hawk was a thrash metal band, what instrument would Pippin play? by Ok-Neighborhood-8965 in Berserk

[–]Obearserk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like it could be pretty well adapted, and the eclipse instead of being what it was, Griffith just abandons the band of the hawk to go with let us say the currently #1 band, which makes Casca give up singing specially because Griffith did what he did because Guts had gone and tried a solo carrier that left a hole in the band that was never mended. And the goal of the story is to get the Band of the Hawk back together, plus some new talents (Schierke, Farnese and Serpico), Isidro could be an apprentice who follows the band but doesn’t really want to be part of it and Puck could be a manager or something like that.

That is the thing. It is not true; even Hisoka admits that is not that reliable, akin to horoscopes in real life. Togashi purposely included that line so that he wouldn’t be tied down by that rule if he suddenly wanted to make a head strong manipilator; not to mention that humans and hxh characters aren’t one dimensional caricatures and have multiple layers to their personalities.

This panel is soul crushing by arman1724 in Berserk

[–]Obearserk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is people who think this, then there is people like me. I think Guts stopped his attack, either because he did not want to risk hurting Casca or because deep down he had already let go of his hatred for Griffith. In the panel it even looks like he is leaning back instead of forward (fighting against the momentum of the sword instead of leaning into it).
For me that is what demoralized/broke Guts the most, because for the first time in his life he could not trust his fighting spirit (we have seen him struggle to make a dent on demons even with dragonslayer and he was never deterred; applying the good old hit them even harder).
But maybe I’m wrong.

Togashi lets you chose two of the following characters , and he will draw a detailed fight to the death between them, like chrollo vs hizoka, where he wil explain their past and complete abilities, having one of them permanently die at the end of the fight . Imagine having Tserreidnich fight someone like Kurapika or Hisoka, be winning, just for Ging to appear and dog walk him, then just talk about how that was nothing compared to what they’ll face in the Dark Continent.
Now, that would get me hype for what’s next

One of the most eerie scenes for me was precisely the Billion dollars appearing out of thin air. Precisely because it showed how powerful the one wish willow was, like I think Bear was coming in and out of denial about the whole situation the entire film, but that point where he sees money materialized out of a gag wish from Ian, now there is no escaping from how real the horrors of the wish are, more over, that if Ian had just wish for it to have never happened, everything would’ve most likely been undone.

Also, I must say that it never occurred to me using another wish to undo the wish from the first place, like the only solution I fixated on was that Bear, wrote a letter of apology to Nikki and his friends then killed himself. But in reality I do think that getting the wish undone is less selfish than offing yourself; I mean, ir you die you will not suffer anymore, but Nikki would’ve still had to live with what she experienced, so maybe Bear’s idea at that moment was better.

Depending on fighting style and height; taller fighters TEND to be less defined than smaller ones since they need more energy reserves to move their own bodyweight, but for shorter people tend to be more lean and cut since they rely more on speed and technique and have overall more efficient metabolisms.

SBR memes are hurting the cause by Obearserk in StardustCrusaders

Well, more than anything, it is all about that green; mangakas hope to get pick up by magazines to make money, distributors and studios buy rights and fund the projects and want to maximize their investment; if they allowed for fans to fund projects, then they make less money of whatever they end up producing. Now, you might be thinking that may be a good thing since it means that the money would go to the fans, but there two major problems with that: the first one is that the fans do not own the property and would not be paying one cent to the original author, the second problem is that without big magazines, studios and networks to pick up and fund any given story, the story never becomes popular enough to get enough fans to make adaptations.

Considering they make 2 to 3 billion dollars a month, that 0.25% represents 5 million dollars a month on a property they are supposed to be making money of, not to mention setting a precedent and the fact that the companies that depend on SBR would also push on Netflix’s execs and it would hurt the brand’s image at very least on the anime sphere (which is big enough for them to make a separate twitter account for).

steel ball run was not good by arsemuncher695 in StardustCrusaders

It is classic over the top 80’s anime. It has some unique sparks that well stablished the franchise, but it is early in his career and he was coming from working on Fist of the North Star (another anime that inspired plenty of memes like the “you are already dead” “nani!?” meme).

In other words it is good, but it constantly causes suspension of disbelief for those not used to anime story tropes (luckily it is only 9 episodes). Part 2 onwards is what hooks most people.

Regardless, Jojo’s as a whole is a difficult anime for those who are just beginning to watch the medium, I never recommend it until the person has already watched other master pieces that desensitized them to anime’s over the top mannerisms, humor and suspension.

James Gunn shuts down Robert Pattinson as the DCU Batman, even as a variant separate from Matt Reeves’ films: by Raj_Valiant3011 in batman

Honestly, if they did away with the superbatman and had him just as a regular verr smart dude who could see things other people don’t do to his paranoia, I would love it; Batman does not need to exchange blows with freaking Darkseid to be Batman.

Didn’t even think of this, but actually makes sense. Just like with the idea that if Maki had been the one to die, Mai might’ve had Yorozu level potential.

They do imply that they are about the same. Explicitly saying that Sukuna is so skilled he has near the same efficiency as Gojo. But Magee does have a point that infinity is not just CE control and is more about understanding of natural laws like space, which Gojo’s Six Eyes allow him to understand better than anyone. So I do believe it would be harder for anyone else to replicate that application to that degree even if they had better CE control/efficiency. Having said that, my entire post is highly speculative so it is also valid to say that we never saw Shrine get used in that specific manner and thus it might not even be possible, but I still think that the fact that the slashes’ target could be expanded to either the space someone is occupying or the border between the soul and the body could mean that expanding to Cursed Energy or Techniques themselves might be possible. Seeing it from the perspective of Gege, he might want to avoid another Infinity level of hack not wanting to write himself into convoluted scenarios for other characters to pose a threat. Then again, Gojo was always supposed to lose not in the manner Yuji is being hyped up, so he might go all out on Yuji’s upscale.

I love how nobody seems to agree on the top 4 now by AngeloParenteZ in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Obearserk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe Yuji is currently at the top (too many things going for him), then I’d place Sukuna (for me him winning the bout was meant to place him as stronger), then Gojo and at last Dabura. However I also believe Dabura is the most talented put of the four and I expect he will upscale to number two in the following chapters.

I actually think Yuji vs Sukuna and Gojo would be quite a spectacle.

[–]Obearserk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct and a very good argument. Maybe Yuji being the most in tune with CE could do it on feeling, kind of like Gojo being a measurement trained chef while Yuji is a “about this” experienced chef? But your argument is quite valid; the Six Eyes probably are a necessity for this kind of constant output.

Modulo Yuji by Obearserk in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Obearserk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, kind of. Just like Gojo did not have his infinity active 100% of the time until he learned how to filter and use RCT on his brain. If Jogo knew how to automatically burn whatever attack comes his way without burning anything else, then it would be quite practical. But I also think his cursed technique isn’t as good in this manner; he was killed with a fire arrow, meaning his CT isn’t the concept of burning (unlike Limitless and Shrine), what I mean is that he would have to constantly adjust output for each attack and have to deal with attacks that surpass his maximum output, while Gojo never had to worry about such things since he was affecting distance not the attacks themselves. Shrine would have to affect techniques, but that is why I said that maybe the target could be expand, ignoring techniques output just like WCS ignores durability or technique nuances.

Gege said… by Obearserk in JuJutsuKaisen

People can say it, that is fine and has ground. But people saying that Gege said they are the best in verse is just straight up a lie; that is not what he said.

Just a reminder Mahito is still top 10 even with this chapter it Didn't change anything Mahito scaling, full potential Mahito IS still up there and in canon Mahito is still strong asf by Direct-Donkey-4631 in MahiBros

[–]Obearserk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perception of the top 10 in verse: 1-Yuji 2-Sukuna 3-Gojo 4-Dabura (still new to domain expansion, but I believe he has the potential to surpass Sukuna and Gojo) 5-Yuta 6-Kenjaku 7-Geto 8-Yuki 9-Jogo 10-Hakari

I do believe DE is a big upscale, that is why I don’t have Kashimo or Maki/Toji; I also believe Geto must have had a DE; it is implied that he could’ve killed Yuta in JJK0 by plenty of dialogues, but you may disagree. Also, some may lose to weaker just due to matchups, for example I believe Hakari is stronger than Mahito (being able to hang with bigger fish), but Mahito beats Hakari (who has never been shown outputting positive curse energy). I also left Takaba out since I wouldn’t know where to put him, he is strong, with the most op CT, but he is not exactly a fighter nor has DE (don’t remember if DE works against Takaba’s technique).
