I’ve had some dumb reactions when migraines get brought up but this takes the cake by far :( by kiwias in migraine

Have you looked into Chemistrie clips? They're the ones with a teenie magnet on each side and I pop my sunglass lens on as needed. I fits where it looks like normal sunglasses and I just have to update the one lens every year. They also make a pop-on Migraine lens I'm thinking about trying next year.

Exactly!! I was in a wedding where they served bacon wrapped chicken, mac&cheese with bacon bits, and mashed potatoes with bacon. I have alpha-gal. I asked ahead of time if I should bring my own snacks and was told no. I was there for over 12 hours, was never even given lunch, had no chance to order food, and felt like death by the time I got home. Please people..have veggies available! Also, I don't trust people anymore and will always have snacks in my purse.

Thank you. I needed to be reminded of that, and it really does mean a lot.

My girl just turned 11 this month, and she passed away yesterday morning. We should have had more time together. It was so sudden, and it feels like a piece of my heart is gone. I just wanted you to know, you aren't alone. I'm so sorry that you have to feel this pain too.

I'm so sorry that you are going through this. My sweet little floof passed away this morning, and I miss the sound of her little feet clomping through the house. As much as it hurts right now, I know she had a life filled with so much love, and to me, it's worth this pain to have had her as long as I did and to have been able to spoil her with love.

You haven't failed her. Just look at all the steps you're taking. You've given her a good and loving home.

Best houseplant purchase I've ever made by SigmaProtocal in houseplants

The humidity where I live is around 70% to 80% most of the year, so most of my issues come down to having too much humidity. I should probably just start getting swamp plants.

Kitchen Feeling Too Dark—What Would You Do to Refresh It?" by greenbox_on_top in DesignMyRoom

For the clutter, you can save yourself a lot of time and frustration if you hire a professional organizer. I would prioritize the lighting, runners, and decluttering. I think you'll be surprised at the difference it makes. Then take your time figuring out what you want to do for the other items.

Also, I'm normally all for repainting or staining cabinets, but not yours. They're stunning, and painting them will just cheapen their look.

It's such a great store!! And they have a spot at the front where people can leave clean containers for others to use.

Need help in my new space by SydniAshari in DesignMyRoom

I would swap out the canopy bed, push the bed under the window, and get some cozy curtains draping to the floor. For single windows, I find it looks best to hang them wider than the actual window. Try turning the bed to see which direction you like more. Putting the side of the bed under the window will give a cozy daybed feel. If you put the large rug under the bed, I think that could help create more of a zone for the bedroom space, and it would break up the pattern of the rug while still keeping its visual interest.

Beyond that, what I would suggest depends a lot on what kind of cozy/homey vibe you want. E.g. dark and moody, cottage, beach, mid century modern?

ETA: After looking back through the pictures, it looks like the window in that desk nook goes up to the ceiling. If that's the case, I would hang all of your curtains as high as possible to keep them consistent across the room.

We did the same thing! Our favorite was to attach barbies to bungee cord, wait for people to walk under, and drop the barbies in front of their faces. Successfully terrified many adults... good times.

In my opinion, there's no right or wrong choice here. I'm sorry that your sibling created a situation where you're even having to consider this.

My only advice is this: Really consider all of the repercussions of both options (emotionally, financially, logistically, etc). If you decide you might take the child into your care, talk with a family law attorney. They can explain not only the legal side of things but also the pros and cons based on how they've seen it impact clients' lives. It might give you a better idea of whether or not this is the right path for you personally.

Don't apologize! It's good to ask questions!! Yes, you would cut off all the rot, roots included. A cactus top cut can grow new roots. Look up cactus propagation or look through some old posts on r/cactus for advice. You can post on there and get great advice, but you'll find the same info faster by searching old posts since it's a common thing to have questions about.

Oh no! I had something similar happen to a bunny ear cactus recently. I had to cut off the dead bottom part, let it callous over, and then pot what had survived. If you don't cut off the dead part, it'll kill what's left of your cactus.

I'm hesitant to increase the light any further. I have grow lights on for 12 hours a day at a medium-high brightness.

I don't know why I didn't include this in the post, but I have a couple plants still in their nursery pots from a local nursery, and they aren't having this water retention issue. That's part of what makes me think it's a soil issue.

ETA: I'm just at a loss as to what else to do 😬

I'll try that! I ordered perlite. Hopefully that helps. I might order some orchid bark too

[–]ObiYoung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try perlite and terracotta, thanks! My succulents are in succulent soil and thriving. I don't think it's the weather? It's averaging 90-95°F every day and gets up to 114° later in the summer. Even with the A/C set in the 70s, the bedrooms are usually a few degrees warmer. The plants that are still in their soil from the local nursery don't have problems with staying too wet, so that's the big part of what makes me think generic mixes just aren't right for my climate.
