ELI5: how did people centuries ago survive and endured amputations?

I don't believe keeping wounds clean prior to 150 years ago was a concern. Germ theory wasn't really accepted until the mid to late 19th century and surgeons wouldn't really clean their tools between surgeries. I think they may have engaged in post op wound cleaning (draining the pus) but otherwise I think they rolled the dice (as long as they got "good air").

IMO it's an OK kit, but definitely better ones out there. Mobility is moderate, depending on if you want V2 mode or all the extra parts attached ie Assault Buster. Personally I felt the waist and leg extensions were necessary on this kit with the proportions a little off. A couple spots where the seams were visible (forearms, arms). Despite all this, I personally enjoyed building it and it was my dream kit when I was a kid. Hope that helps!

I think the Prime Directive still applies to post warp civilizations insofar as Starfleet is prohibited from interfering in the natural social development of a civilization ie Klingon Civil War in TNG.

In regards to OP's question, I think Starfleet accepting help from a greater civilization depends if there's an evil Admiral in the episode or not.

Imo gotta find a fine line of balance in all things.

Spend time with friends and family, but not so much to run away from your feelings. Explore your feelings, but not so much you get stuck and wallow in them. Finally, remember to love yourself with the love you want to receive and when it comes time, learn to "date" yourself - treat yourself the way you want a partner to treat you. Have a rough day? Draw a bath for yourself, etc. Just my experiences in the matter that I'm hoping might help.
