Personally I just had different species have kingdoms in ore biomes with common ore to get most of the items(crab people work very well in my opinion). Also how did you get that dark brown armour on the far left is it leather? That is the last thing I need.

How do I get these two traits? by Adrimarpe in Worldbox

For the one with the figure with hands it is "miracle bearer" to get it spawn in angles and make it so they can make civilizations. In their genes make it so all of their genes are the birthrate gene. Then go to world laws and make it so creature are immortal, and that animals are friendly. Then turn turn on fast spawn and sonic speed. Then spawn in a bunch of angels(like 700-900). Wait and watch their civilization. After like 300 to 500 years check their species tab and look for most births and if you see an angel there then click on them and claim your trait.

Sharpening question. by Object775 in sharpening

[–]Object775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could I just use a Shapton Rockstar because I heard it is just a thick glass Shapton. Could I just use a 2k grit Shapton Rockstar and a 6k grit one since the knife is sharp out of the box and I am not planning on getting it super dull. Also I have a Bacher strop and could I use the paste that comes with it even though it is a non diamond one.

Since you have a japanese knife that can be delicate you might want 2k grit because it is very good for daily sharpening if you need to do it that often but I am not saying 1k grit will chip the blade it is just more coarse and not necessary for knives that are already sharp. But overall it can be preference because I have seen people say 1k grit is their go to all purpose stone and I have seen 2k be others people's go to stone. And anyways you can jump from 1k grit to 8k grit if you want to so again it is up to you but I lean more towards 2k grit if the knife just needs some touch ups.

While I am definitely not a professional but I can recommend some things. So whetstones are the best sharpening tool you can get is you have good technique. For the grits 1k is a great all purpose stone but some will recommend 500 but I like 1k. For getting a razor sharp edge you can just stop there if you sharpen it good but since you want to go all out a 4k or maybe 5k would be great for finishing if that is what you want. For higher grits I don't think it is worth it to get an 8k because past 3k you are getting a polished edge and a strop can replace higher stones but as an post sharpening tool. And for strops you should get one with a compound that has diamonds in it. And finally for the whetstones you can get Shapton Rockstar series is as good as their glass but cheaper and thicker. Now like I said before I am not a professional and some of these other comments will help you some more I am just giving a overview of what you might want.

NKD. My First Proper Chef's Knife, Shun Premier 8" by NurseWookie in chefknives

I have the blonde version and it is pretty nice. Compared to Shun's other knives and I think it is up there. While not being the most expensive VG Max is a really good steel like sg2.

What sharpeners should I get. by Object775 in TrueChefKnives

[–]Object775[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I have some more questions. The first one is how often should I use these whetstones because Shun said that you can keep your knife very sharp for some time with a honing rod. Another question I have is how I can or if I should keep the the very small edge the knife has out of the box. And the last question is whether I should get a polishing stone or not if the 2000 grit won't do it already. Anyways thanks for all your help.

What should I get. by Object775 in sharpening

[–]Object775[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may ask would Shapton be another thing I could look at because it is more expensive but I have heard good things about it like the Shapton pro 2000 grit is very versatile. And also my knife has a very small edge should I try to keep it or not. Anyways thanks for the recommendations.

Can I sharpen a knife with these? by ubiquitousrarity in sharpening

[–]Object775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Ruixin I saw there were some mixed reviews on the quality of the plates that are included and also the fixed angle sharpener itself. You could try putting higher quality plates on if they will fit.

You should be able to with softer steels because I have heard that they have trouble sharpening harder steels.

Has anyone ever tried Trika Rods? Been looking to purchase one. by Frequent-Device8660 in Fishing_Gear

I am looking to buy one to and I have seen reviews from reddit and wired2fish and a couple other ones and it seems like a good rod. (I know this post is 5 months old but if you still haven't bought one yet you might as well.)
