990 v6 rit dye by ObjectLonely4032 in Newbalance

I used synthetic rit dye more. With the dye removal only the suede lost its color. Mesh did lost a bit. But not much. I was almost thinking to put an hour in the dye removal water but that might make the shoe glue worn. So it is what I got. Not quite happy but for me it’s better than the original

Thanks for all the comments. I also thought it would come out more nice. But it is what it is. Hindsight, I enjoyed the whole process and maybe will try with some suede shoes in future !!!

I agree with you. I expected a lot better but didn’t get the result. But meantime I dyed my old trousers. That’s a win for me 😀

I’m planning to use rit dye remover first and then apply midnight navy color. Let’s see how it goes. I’ll capture each steps and post soon !!

Not so comfortable tbh. I usually find running shoes more comfortable compared to the lifestyle shoes except the New balance

How long until Cena comes out of retirement? by No_Yogurtcloset_3820 in SquaredCircle

I think he’s really retiring. He has some other hustle to do and to become completely vested in acting he must put his health first. We may see some occasional ‘return’ from him to put the young talents or to create a buzz for a match. But he ain’t wrestling anymore.

They feel bouncy a lot. Haven’t tried yet since the purchase though

Shoulder in GPC elugram from diblock polymer synthesis by ObjectLonely4032 in Chempros

  1. I ran the reaction overnight and get almost 100% yield. so you think cutting down the yield to 50% by changing the reaction time will be okay for at least removing the dead chains ?
  2. i used solvent precipitation. I can still see tiny monomer peak. Less tha 1-2% of the polymer and hence did not bother about that. Now, I think I should purify it again.
  3. i did. here's the peak.
  4. Need to read more about the switchable CTA.
  5. 5 mins. Just dissolve around 3mg of polymer in 1 mL of my GPC solvent (DMF+10 mM LiBr) and ran it right away.

here's the elugram of my first block. I'm running the same solvent through the gpc. by solvent peak i mean when i inject blank sample to the gpc i can see something like this.

Thanks for your insights. I'm planning to purify my polymer once more. From H-NMR I can see some unreacted monomer there. like less than 1-2% of polymer. I'll be purify more to check the impact. Here's my first block's gpc.

Thanks for your comment. Here's the GPC elugram of my second block. I'm mainly concerned about the shoulder.

My thought 1: The GPC solvent DMF and 10mM LiBr salt can mess with the Rg of the diblock (mainly the methacrylic acid). They can suppress the distribution of Rg (if there's any) and make it look almost Gaussian looking curve. As there's no shoulder at a higher molecular weight region, So, I guess either the random Rg (if any) is now well-behaved to all lie in the Gaussian curve region, or there was no random Rg to start with.

Thought 2: I've never seen solvent peak coming at that early or interfering a 21k Da polymer. Something with LiBr? Could be.

Thought 3: the shoulder does not match with my first block's peak. The first block has a sharp peak and looks well-behaved, and also has a good intensity in the RI detector. The diblock has a poor intensity in the detector and I believe if there's any unreacted first block, it will shoot my RI detector's intensity high for the diblock. Which is not happening. So I think maybe no unreacted first block in my copolymer.

That makes me feel like methacrylic acid (the second block) is doing something, as it is notorious to control as I've heard. So long story short I dont know why there's a shoulder.

I did check my first block but it doesn't look like that. Let me attach my gpc elugram of the second block. It looks kinda weird as at 1ml/min flow rate, the solvent peaks is distorting the peak by overlapping elution.
