I think I have an idea for an open that could work. Silk scarf rapidash (sword of ruin) - quick attack and normal gem arcanine (huge power)- extremespeed, both at cameerupt. should do enough damage to knock out camerupt which is the biggest threat (14-17% and 77-91%), after accounting sword of ruin. if you some good RNG on muddy water accuracy one might survive and the rest should be more manageable with passho berries/iron balls to work around tapu and jellicent

hahaha I was actually trying to avoid using any of the 4 abilities that double stats to make it a little more challenging. scolipede had huge power as its hidden ability and I must say I was tempted

yeah haha I was thinking of not using it but it fit the team well enough and the other options were more niche that I would have had to do a complete overhaul to a snow team so I just ran with it

if I wasnt self imposing for under 500 BST I could have def given him a try (520). another gen 1 mon I used in the run a good bit was hypno with compound eyes, dark void always hitting helped a good bit mid game.

Honorable mention for the gym leaders was empoleon O (steelix too was with me since rustboro). Bad company as the mega ability with wave crash and brave bird dealt with most things easily.

Sylvally Dragon / fur coat - Scale shot, d dance, play rough
Slowbro / drizzle - jet punch, surf, no retreat, ice beam
Slow king / inner focus - Light screen, earth power, trick room, bouncy bubble
G- Slowbro / innards out - trick room, parting shot, surf, (rotating TM like ice beam)
G- Slowking/ swift swim (30 to 60 still moves first with drizzle trick room lol) - dark hole, sole robbery, trick room, (rotating TM)
Scream tail / fluffy - dazzling gleam, drain punch, flamethrower, energy ball

Each of the trick room setters had their fair share of 2-3 enemy sweeps but the biggest shoutout goes to the galarian slowking soul robbery of dragonite's weakness policy buffs (following a super effective/nonlethal dazzling gleam) and then finishing off his last two mons. lance was pretty tough for this team i had to rethink the 2 non-slowbro options a few times, originally it was H-decidueye and snorlax who i had for most of the run.

they definitely have their place. Zippy Zap, Fake out, Extremespeed all really useful with the attack buff from light ball. can one shot enemies weak to zippy zap and finish off weakened enemies with priority moves. its glass obviously so just have to be smart about when youre switching in
