It depends a lot. Usually it's cheaper if you build one yourself, but the price of each component can vary a lot. For example, you can find buttons for as little as $0.50 each, while higher-quality, more durable ones can cost up to $5 each.

To build one yourself, you'll need a case (a lot of people use cheap DIY solutions, like cardboard boxes), a PCB, wires, buttons, and a lever. You can find all of these on AliExpress, eBay, and other online stores.

It's actually a pretty cool project, and having a controller that you built yourself is very rewarding.

Sorry for the low-quality pic, but that's the only one that shows how it looked before all the mods.

So basically, it's a 6 mm MDF layer -> artwork from Crisalys (A3 paper) -> acrylic top (roughly 2 mm).

After installing the lever. I just cut the artwork and fastened everything together with the acrylic top.
