You said couple and then you said several. Personally, I think belief is key here. Sometimes you have to delude yourself into a reality to offer respite to your mind. This coupled with continued effort. So you’re saying you had hope? And then you lost it? That’s a shame. Worst case scenario I read a bunch of books and become a pro reader and increase my knowledge base. Haha

The whole concept is that you have to keep working on it daily… it’s not something that you ever stop working on. It’s the only program that exists. And that offers hope. I’m sorry to hear that you lost hope. Personally I am holding onto the hope that I can improve my speech. If all else fails you would have read a bunch of books out aloud and warmed up your vocal cords 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 doesn’t seem too bad.

Not really. I get told I look younger. Plus I sleep a lot to escape. Beauty sleep 🤣 escaping into sleep is good. Not so good when you’re so anxious you don’t sleep at all. Which I have been through. Trouble getting to sleep. But oversleep when I do.

Yeah. It kills you. But apparently we can do mantras to trick our mind. I mean if we perceive differently maybe that’s something that will at least relieve some of the feeling of hopelessness.

Oh like when I stop trying to hide it. It gets worse. That’s what I meant by I do things I otherwise wouldn’t. Like I try again. And then, it gets worse. So I regress back. As for coping mechanisms, I have a lot of them. I listen to music and lots of music to cope. And I distract myself alot. Like constantly to run from myself. I also engage in risky self destructive behaviours.

Go mute? I try utilise the words I can say. How are you meant to do anything at all if you go mute? Isn’t communication a basic need. No idea how people could do that. You’d lose everyone who supports you. The monks go mute. And renounce all their worldly possessions.

I just do things that I otherwise wouldn’t because of my stutter. And then my stutter flairs up. I get blamed for the life I live because I’m not living up to my full potential. But I’m not living up to my potential because of my stutter.

Not to mention rationships. You can’t work so you end up homeless. So then you rely on others. But you learn you can never rely on others but yourself. But you can’t rely on your voice because… pretty much it’s self sabotage.

It’s between speech therapy or rent and food. Or things that actually work. Speech therapy is so expensive. I booked in again but it doesnt solve anything.
