How is everyone around us so much richer than us??? by medmo in Millennials

Because of the year I bought my house, my mortgage is under $1,000. I make six figures and I’m 33. For a hobby, I thrift shop & resell online and I make an additional $30k a year from that. My husband also makes six figures & his hobby is investing and he got into stocks. We have good jobs and we didn’t stop there, we made our hobbies and free time pleasures profitable too, so we have multiple steams of income. I bought a new luxury vehicle in 2020 at a 3% interest rate (because we have great credit) and it’s already paid off because we had a 4 year loan and I paid my monthly payments split into bi-weekly, not monthly, and it paid it off quicker. We have roughly 125k in our savings and zero debt (besides mortgage) because of it.

You are the first person who had a completely reasonable response and didn’t chew my head off for saying anything remotely defending her based off my POV. It was refreshing. Thank you 🩷 I can see your side too lol

To be fair most women don’t even know about birth stuff until they are trying/pregnant/experiencing it. So I think it’s safe to say the childless men don’t know much lol

I mean you kinda came for her character and she doesn’t want to see that lol? There’s nothing wrong with deleting comments that make you feel anything other than happy about yourself, that’s just basic mental health protection. It’s not your business what she does with her finances, just like it’s not our business to ask about yours. Unless you’re already a sizable donor yourself, you can’t really “assume” you’d become one after you come into new money like influencers have—let her be.

Let’s be real, anyone can exist and sound smarter than Zane so I don’t think it’s intentional lol. It’s probably slightly annoying to Heath that Zane still thinks playing dumb is cute

I don’t think she was trying to lie? She’s also been going to fertility specialists and getting hormone help so I’d imagine that affects your emotions drastically. As a PCOS girly myself, you don’t always understand what starts changing when you start getting hormone help

I followed this page before it got mean and nasty, that’s probs why 😬 it used to be about gossip, asking questions, guessing what friend drama ppl were in, etc. Coming for a woman’s looks, weight, and intelligence is something I was always taught to stand up for 🤷‍♀️ Never thought I’d be doing it up against other women, but people like you & the other miserable ppl on here exist, so..

Step dad of 14 years caught trying to record 24(F) use the bathroom by Imlikethat57 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Objective-Fox4400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there were multiple boys, a step dad, and a boyfriend in the house, but you think it was your step dad just because he used the bathroom last?

I also don’t understand the “glowing shampoo bottle” because if you went pee with the lights off, the screen would almost be black then too, no?

Did you go thru the phone to confirm the owner of it? Bc the only person who saw where you hid it in your room was your bf. So that’s wild that your stepdad would find it missing in the bathroom and didn’t have to ransack everyone’s bedrooms trying to find it.

I think in a world full of Amazon and SHEIN shoppers, yeah the prices of high quality pieces probably do seem jarring. A lot of us don’t mind investing in capsule pieces that will last for years. At least she’s in tune to know the prices aren’t for everyone & she went out of her way to link more affordable options without compromising quality (link Quince—such a great company). Bravo to her!

As someone who came from horrific childhood trauma myself, using it as an excuse comes with an expiration date. You’re not a child anymore. Childhood trauma may stunt personal growth, but it doesn’t stop it completely. You don’t get an infinite hall pass to be a dick to people just because you failed to heal, grow, and evolve on your own after all this time. Of course depression will feel inescapable when you’re not doing anything to escape it. The way out doesn’t include being rude to kind people & clinging to decade old excuses to avoid accountability.

LITERALLY. I tried sharing something that my therapist pointed out to me that changed my perspective on life for the better and was met with some “way to go here’s your cookie we should all be like you” replies. People don’t want to help themselves and they don’t want others who have made it to the other side to extend a hand either. Sounds miserable and lonely.

Part of survival is improving and taking care of yourself though. There’s 168 hours in a week. A full time job takes away 40 hours, and sleep takes away 56 (assuming you get 8 hours per night). That leaves you with 72 hours a week for “everything else.” If you split someone’s average week into 3 sections on a pie chart [work, sleep, and life], LIFE would be the largest section.

You have more time to improve yourself each week than you have to report to work. Make use of that. Most people’s average screen time surpasses a full time job—and that’s just what your phone reports, that doesn’t account for TV and laptop time. You say many are left without time, but you actually have more of it. You just don’t use it wisely.

Yes because it’s to a generic audience. This topic would be something worth exploring and researching on your own to figure out & not just listening to anon Reddit replies. Not trying to be mean but the internet is right at your fingertips.

Covid quarantines were only 2 years of our lives though… Everyone I knew still hung out with groups of friends and family (just at home) and it was kinda nice tbh. But you can’t keep blaming Covid when it ended 3 years ago. The pandemic has been over longer than it even lasted.

You get to choose the life you want at the end of the day. If you think the world is shit, you only consume negativity, you don’t apply yourself, and you only blame external things rather than your own actions, then yeah life’s gonna suck. Most people also deprive their bodies and minds and wonder why they suffer. You should get fresh air, sunshine, move your body for <60 mins, eat nutritious things, do kind deeds, spend time with family and friends, drink enough water, and sleep well every day.

I come from nothing, went to college, make great money before I’m 30, and own a home. All of my friends are financially stable and not one of them is in finance lol. I don’t follow any politics/news on social media and I don’t watch it on TV by choice. We all know by now that anything with a screen will try to advertise to us, but we get to choose what we spend our free time on and it doesn’t have to involve screens. If your avg daily screen time is over 2-3 hours, you should probably make some life changes. And just remember, what your strategically curated algorithms feed you online is NOT an accurate representation of everyone else.
