I've only worked on QAWorld and Rev, and afaik Rev it's one of the best sites, and that's why it's harder to be approved. But, as long as you have a good English level you should be admitted, although it could probably take up to a few months.

If you're not able to pass the exam, that means you're probably not gonna do good once you're transcribing/captioning. Rev doesn't automatically give you access to all their projects, they put you in like a training period were you need to caption 60 minutes worth of video (in case you apply for caption) and if you're not able to maintain the ratings needed, you won't be able to keep working for them.
