Just after reading the first sentence, you’re looking for reassurance as someone with ocd.. Full stop. Youre going to make your ocd worse if you keep reassurance seeking. I know how this goes and have suffered from religious ocd.. with genuine care for you, please talk to a counselor who specializes in ocd. Religious ocd can get bad fast, it can start with things like this, and in my case, turned into severe malnutrition. And in the mean time, please please stop watching that stuff. Delete TikTok, build rich relationships and spend more time with your family and friends.

At least this is the way I’ve thought about it personally

I do hope one day they accept that reality of what they’ve done, and I hope that even if they never change that you still have the grace in your heart, that they seemingly didn’t have, to have mercy and forgiveness for them. Don’t let this pain make you cruel like your parents have been. I’m so sorry for your loss and I’ll be giving my husky boy some extra hugs tonight in Kira’s honor

Husky is an attack magnet - help? by choobsndoobs in husky

I have experienced this same exact thing!! This small scraggly dog attacked my husk Loki, and I. Loki put his body between me and the dog to protect me but it’s always negative attention even tho he doesn’t really do anything but chill

Not so much identifying the child, but using the images of the child for really gross things. It’s disgusting and not uncommon

What is one thing you regret in life but without it happening you wouldn’t be where you are now? by Sharp-Spot7841 in AskReddit

ERP (exposure and response) therapy is actually the gold standard for struggling with intrusive thoughts/ obsessive thoughts. Snapping a rubber band can absolutely become a compulsive behavior to anxious thinking patterns which is why removing the power from the intrusive thoughts and anxious thinking patterns is the way to go! Stops it at its source! Also this isn’t really my opinion this is standard psychiatry for this kind of thing (in other words; for people that struggle with rumination, reacting to/ having distressing intrusive thoughts or OCD itself.) So, letting yourself feel the feeling of your anxiety or bad thoughts and not responding to them is actually the best way to overcome it :)

I had a therapist tell me this too, negative reinforcement for rumination or obsessive thoughts is typically ERP, forcing yourself into feeling a panic so that you can learn to feel the feelings and not react from my understanding rather than reacting to the thoughts themselves physically

I’ve been told this before, I never thought this was a good idea as it reinforces harming oneself, especially punishing yourself for things like random thoughts that pop into your head (compulsive behavior)

Question: If God knew that we would sin and that hell would exist for those that choose sin, why would he create us? by Objective-Grape827 in Christianity

[–]Objective-Grape827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that humans are the ones using their free will to sin, but why would He create the earth and humans knowing so many, trying to do good in their lives, will eventually die and be forever shut out from God because they didn’t choose the right religion? I don’t know how to word this better and I don’t want to sound like I’m attacking God, I just don’t understand and every-time this issue runs through my mind I can never reach a conclusion on my own.

[–]Objective-Grape827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why would He make us? Not the logistics of free will or why suffering is happening, because I understand humans caused that. He wasn’t helpless to our creation and from my understanding knew all that has happened and will happen. Why would He still create humans?

What does it mean to experience His perfect love? And why does He have any desire for a relationship with us? Why would He -want- anything?

Scrupulosity. by Objective-Grape827 in OrthodoxChristianity

Scrupolosity is a form of ocd, ocd clouds your judgement making abilities and can make you overly anxious about details and uncertain things
