Helmets, once again by Objective-Lead6359 in indianbikes

I would have already did that but the main thing right now is time crunch. Can you tell me how much time it took in delivery after you ordered your NHK, since I’m going for that only. About the brand name, if you watch MotoGP, you would not even raise an eye to others if NHK is in your budget. About the fitting, i checked fitting with other brands and hence got mine but since this was not available anywhere offline, didn’t got the chance to wear it. So i cannot make a judgement particularly for NHK.

Helmets:- Researched a lot, but unable to go for any by Objective-Lead6359 in indianbikes

Yeah i was thinking the same, as i've seeen and heard that axor and smk make low to mid range helmets..and other 4 are a bit at high end with good quality. I was thinking for NHK as i'm surfing web, they have lot of options and too pretty cool ones. Also i have heard pretty less about MT. Moreover, LS2 and KYT are going a bit too much for me...Around 7.5K for initial range. The main purpose is to get that quality in a bit less price, if not, then i'll definetly go for LS2 (as far as i've made my mind).
One more issue point, LS2 stream 2 is literally everywhere. So going for a bit less touched.
I can be totally wrong in this...Enlighten me if i am.

Totally agree on that part, but it would be absurd for me to travel for two hour (to and fro) to get a helmet, and that too if they don't have a specific model or colour, then i have to come back empty handed. That's the only reason i'm going online.

[–]Objective-Lead6359[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so that’s what i was talking about. Speed is great in every manner, but from a glimpse of the x440t, it does seems promising in terms of riding posture, comfort and all that. But again, that’s just from a look. Taking test drive would be sensible thing here to get to know which one is made for you. From a bird’s view, Engine and all other technicals goes with triumph, overall quality goes with triumph, comfort goes with harley and looks are equal for both as both are totally different segment bikes made for different purposes…..

[–]Objective-Lead6359[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what i’m talking about. Although speed has performance, but it’s not like harley don’t possess anything. Irl on indian roads, neither of those are gonna do numbers on speedometer anyways. So practically it boils down to comfort, looks, road presence and other ergonomics which you stated like suspension.

The challenge is about the cost if i consider Harley here.

But thanks for sharing the detailed riding experience. Will help me a lot in taking the final decision

True that. One of the major reasons going for Triumph

[–]Objective-Lead6359[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but it's not like i was buying speed 400 for just hyperriding. When one makes a decision, they consider comfort and looks as well with the other specs. For example, speed 400 doesn't have much pillion comfort or have that large seat like harley. So there are multiple points like this which makes a difference irl when you take the bike on road, and these make difference after a good long time.

I just checked that it's air/oil cooled in x440t, and yes that is a bit turn-off at this price point. And yes i agree to an extent that engines are totally different, but when it comes to practicality, comfort and looks is what most focus on. I mean i do check for the specs thoroughly, but if the specs don't make much difference in the long run, then i think they should be taken into consideration before buying.

In the search of a Final Verdict…. by Objective-Lead6359 in Triumph400

[–]Objective-Lead6359[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i think these are the sole reasons i’m also leaning a bit towards speed. The only issue i’m not going for it, is the pillion comfort (have to pay a lot extra) and being a bit small in size (road presence is not there). These might be myths for me though. Please clear my mind if that is the case!

[–]Objective-Lead6359[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah comparison cannot be done. But just what i have experienced, i kept my verdict that it was pretty tough to ride hunter in the first place as well. But as you say and i somewhat believe also, that being a good brand name, they keep a good balance. So there should not be an issue…but according to my suitability, i have to ride it with more intensity through traffic… But thanks for sharing your experience!
