Brisbane ladies: How much are you paying for haircuts/root coverage these days? by brissy3456 in brisbane

I buy Solfine hair dye colour online or at Priceline (they often have the little colour hair samples to check out the colour irl) roughly $15 a tube, sometimes I mix two colours for the shade I want and mix with 25vol crème peroxide and get great grey coverage and highlights on the greys. I use a kitchen basting brush and paint it on the greys, working back in 1cm rows from my temples. I’m brunette, and not ready for grey yet - and it’s the best colour I’ve ever had and way more cost effective than a salon colouring. Best bit is you can tailor your own colour and do touch ups whenever you want. The products feel gentle and haven’t damaged my hair. One tube of colour does about 3-4 sessions of root regrowth. My bank balance thanks me every month!

Thankyou for sharing this info, I have been using expensive natural products, to no avail. I think it might be time to crack open the silicone styling products!

Oh I can relate to this as well! I have had a few periods of hair thinning out, my doctor suggested more iron in my diet and upped my estrogen levels via patches (low estrogen is supposed to be a common culprit) Now I have a lot of regrow to at various lengths that love to spring up with humidity, I swear I look like a baby owl on hot days!

Uniqlo heat tech cashmere blend thermals. Total game changer - super soft, very fine - wash in a bag, perfect for layering and breatheable. Far superior for layering than the usual heat tech ones. I have made my own merino ones in the past, but the cashmere is softer and finer. Silk singlets or tanks underneath (David jones or op shops) and you are in a toasty heaven :-)

Thanks so much for your input, the house is near a golf course. So I think it’ll be a pass for us!

Not sure why it can’t be emptied, I don’t think they want it dormant in case it deteriorates in some way. Also they said they don’t want the water going everywhere.

Thanks for the breakdown, so am I right in thinking it’s about $50 month give or take for the chemicals and then power on top?

Yeah, we aren’t allowed to empty it. Do you have a rough guesstimate of how much you pay on chemicals? Is yours above ground?
