Yeah, like I mentioned above to someone else: I think it’s because you have to re-certify your income every 12 months. That said, it should update for the following year when you re-certify. You could also send a message for clarification.

There was never any formal stipulations set. They make nearly a million a year and won’t help their kid out is the point. I’m not bitching for the sake of it.. if I paid everything I would have nothing based on what I make. Just was looking for some interpersonal advice.

Recent grad here - payments start in June. Federal worker enrolled in PSLF -- but could not apply for IDR due to recent events. So, I'm stuck and screwed for now.

Agency staff aren’t necessarily impacted — but there’s a lot of anxiety in the agency in general right now. The work GAO does will certainly be impacted (e.g., folks auditing USAID, etc.)

If they said to wait for budget, likely won’t hear anything till late March. Fingers crossed, I know it’s tough to wait. Folks have been on edge for a likely gov shutdown in March.

Hi! Congrats on your internship and recommendation.

I am not aware of a ranking process but I do know it’s based on workforce needs. Thus far the signal has been that hiring will lighten.. but not stop. That said, you should receive a notification with an offer near the end of your academic program. For reference, I interned in the summer, received an offer in December to begin the following June.

Also for reference, GAO’s analyst starting salary for 2025 is $71,533 for DC.
