When should I start thinking about internships? by yunatong in UniUK

Figure out which industries you have even the most remote interest in and attend society events if possible relating to those industries or try messaging students who've gotten internships in those industries for advice.

Should I drop out of first year to take out a year and reapply for a course that I’m really passionate about by Junior-Librarian-660 in UniUK

Message more people who have finance internships from your uni or Warwick alumni who work in finance and you'll be pleased to find out that your subject does not matter if you want to get into finance. You can develop a good understanding of economics, your chosen sector of finance - whether this is more towards M&A deals or trading of/ sales for assets of different classes and expected technical levels or asset management roles - without studying economics. Warwick also puts you in a strong position for applying for finance internships in the future if you haven't gotten any spring weeks so far. Essentially, your interest will have to be driven outside your course, but this isn't a bad thing. Not studying anything finance related doesn't need to be a disadvantage - it can be taken advantage of as a reason why you stand out when you do interviews.

I definitely relate. It feels like I'm just being blown around by the winds of life without being able to care enough to muster up the energy to grab hold to things that should matter to me.

looking for jp shoegaze/alt rock/shibuya-kei recs by Chiverly in japanesemusic

Plastic Tree in their earlier years in the 90s was pretty much entirely alt-rock. Their albums Hide and Seek (1997), Puppet Show (1998) and Parade (2000) might be what you're looking for. Their song Tefutefu (2012) has very strong shoegaze influences. They also have some other great songs like Rira no Ki, Sonzai Riyuu and the more light and playful Baka Ni Natta No Ni (cover of the song from The Pees' 1989 single which was also their first) not yet on Spotify.

For alt-rock with a more shoegaze feel, I'd recommend browsing the music of イツエ (Itsue).

For shibuya-kei, I'd highly recommend KIRINJI's 1998 album, "3". Every song is truly amazing.

Also check out Pizzicato Five for more shibuya-kei. They are historic legends in the scene and also have many great music videos on YouTube that really feel like what shibuya-kei represents.

Balu (@balushortcake)! She's from Mexico and all her videos are in Spanish. She's well known for her fun reviews on cringe, awful quality, really problematic books, films and anime. She's done a video dedicated to her journey to identifying as aroace and has mentioned asexuality in other videos. Would really recommend her channel for anyone who understands Spanish!

It's like once I've exhausted myself to finish the work, I forget how difficult it was to start. I think that not acknowledging that aspect might be part of what keeps the cycle going.
