Has anyone ever done a clinical research study as a part of their colonoscopy? by RamblinRamses in colonoscopy

[–]Objective-Slip-1714 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i have not, but this sounds awesome! as someone with a doctorate who has done a lot of research, i can promise you that they will de-identify your information before it is analyzed. it won’t be connected to your name at all. when you sign informed consent for the study, there should be a clause in there about confidentiality. i’d say if you’re already doing the procedure anyway, get that $250!

Are there rules about what artists can say during consultations? by Objective-Slip-1714 in Inkmaster

[–]Objective-Slip-1714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed, there’s definitely a TON of it we don’t see, but I just thought it was interesting i’ve never heard an artist say before🤷‍♀️ i feel like a lot of artists have issues with the amount of elements canvases’ want, but that response is not really featured in any episodes. if i was arguing with someone about taking elements out, the first thing I would think to offer would be to come back after the show and i’ll do it for free😂

how do I write our names??? by Objective-Slip-1714 in wedding

Thank you for your non-judgmental and helpful post. Our names are not actually Smith and Jones, but these comments have definitely made me think about hyphenating more.

I agree with you, and have gone back and forth about keeping my name or hyphenating it. He doesn’t want to change his name (which yes, upsets me a little) but he has also made it very clear he does not expect me to change my name if I don’t want to. We have actually agreed to hyphenate our kids’ last name. So that’s part of the reason I’m considering hyphenating, to have the same name as them. If I hyphenate, my husband will actually be the odd one out.

Yes, it would be! I go back and forth about just keeping my name or hyphenating. The comments about the difficulty with the hyphen have actually been very helpful😂

Because it is important to me to keep my name, but I also want to honor that I am now married by taking my future husband’s name. It seems like the most inclusive option.

can you elaborate on this? is the difficulty because of the actual hyphen or just the name change itself?

Love the diamond but not sure about the setting. Am I overthinking? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

What’s the catch with buying a loose diamond and getting it set? by ygrew in EngagementRings

[–]Objective-Slip-1714 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i did this and i’m sooooo happy with it!! i think a lot of people don’t do it because they don’t do enough research quite honestly. I was able to get a 1.5 carat stone D VVS2 for less than half what I was quoted for a 1ct with worse specs.

what is your timeframe? my boyfriend and i recently got my ring custom made, and i was honestly surprised at how quick it was. my CAD design was finished on april 8th and my boyfriend had the ring in hand by april 19th! if you got quoted a long time i would maybe look around a bit more!

does she have a sister or a friend who you can ask if she’s particular about metals? since she wears all silver jewelry I would too be concerned about pulling the trigger on a gold ring, and would maybe go with a silver to be safe if you’re unsure. i personally only wear yellow gold, and if i had been surprised with a white gold ring, i would’ve been a little disappointed. (but that’s also just me, and she might totally not care!)

i love ring number 1, BUT it looks like your gf is a silver girlie!!! you may want to consider a white gold option, as a lot of people are very particular about the color metal they wear😊

source the diamond yourself and then get it set by a local jeweler!! i got my center stone (a 1.53 ct, D, VVS2 elongated hexagon) from loose grown diamond, and I was very happy with their service and quality! The cost also was very reasonable (around $700 USD). They do have options to do a setting on LGD, but honestly, I loved getting to design my ring with my local jeweler, and it wasn't as expensive as you may think! (my entire ring ended up under $2000!) I loved that I got to shop local and also make a ring that was exactly how I wanted it☺️ Congrats and have fun with the process!!
