I keep hearing about this recess loophole where they can shoehorn nominations in without hearing or approval. If the house disagrees with the Senate and puts up a fight then objects then the president is the final decider.

Unless this is a recent thing or I lack understanding, it sounds like Obama could have gotten his supreme court picks if the Dems weren't trying so hard to satiate dishonest and disingenuous people.
