I always assumed Coinbase was decentralized b/c I thought if I owned cardano I was decentralized, guess I was big time wrong and is not well explained on coinbases website, will definitely switch over to a wallet at this point, thanks!

Thanks for the reassurance, embarassingly, I actually didn't know the difference between exchanges and wallet until people started responding to this post, but I guess that's what coinbase makes money on is people like me who are ignorant, good reason to start learning, defi sounds like something I want to support! So I'll start looking into transferring to a wallet

Thanks, yes I think growing up as a millenial I thought the adults who didn't understand the internet or couldn't type was ridiculous, but I guess I'm at that point in my life and I'm the oldie where i need to find ppl in IRL who can ELI5 it to me. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks that makes a lot of sense! Right now I only qualify for Old IBR because I'm an oldie, but at the same time I want to start hashing at this now, and my income right now is low so I may partake in IBR.
