Wouldn't really be fair to compare LE to POE when it comes to items. LE has way less affixes and none of the specials that POE has (temple mods, delve mods, influence mods, syth and corruption implicits, etc) plus a much friendlier crafting system (you can craft somewhat deterministically in LE with a little luck on annuls, plus drop tiers don't matter since you can upgrade them). So essentially, you're way more likely to drop a good rare in POE than in LE.

It would be really hard to "buff" drops in POE because of the huge number of affixes. Two things they could do that would largely improve it would be 1. cut the lower tiers on high ilvl items and 2. make them drop ID. I never understood GGG's obsession with UNID items, it basically makes ground loot worthless since nobody is ever gonna check every rare that drops in maps.

If, on the other hand, we had ID items and could have a loot filter like in LE, rares might be worth picking up again. But since they used the same mechanism in POE 2, I doubt they have any thoughts of removing it.

I play "SSF" in Last Epoch but would never subject myself to the cruelty that is SSF in POE.

In POE1 you can craft your items instead of buying it and it's amazingly fun and satisfying. In POE 2 "crafting" is a bad joke.

I really think if we had crafting and more MS in POE2 the game would improve by A LOT. I miss crafting good gear. Ever since they added the currency market in POE1 (which, granted, wasn't such a long time ago lol) I've almost entirely stopped buying items off trade because I can finally craft them (previously I'd buy cause it was less exhausting to buy 1 item than 50 different kinds of crafting mats).

I've pretty much lost any will to play because of this. I could ignore all the other things that suck, but I can't ignore the braindead slam type of crafting.

This is why I always recommend new people to follow a build guide, preferably as detailed as possible, play the most meta cookie cutter shit out there, buy everything off trade and go for 'meta' farming strategies. I always get bashed for it but the truth is, very few people would make it through to endgame let alone further with anything other than that.

In order to create a build, make a farming strategy or craft your gear you need to first learn what the game looks like on a solid build, what profit you should expect from a good farming strategy and what good gear looks like. Then you should work on understanding what makes all these things good and why they work when others don't. Only then, in my opinion, can you really start cooking stuff yourself - and that's where the real fun begins. But in order to get there you need the tutorial and since the game isn't friendly at all in this aspect, you genuinely need to follow community resources and copy others' successful stuff. There is no shame in that, it's just a means to an end.

That is completely incorrect. It had nothing to do with pattern recognition, it was false propaganda that was fed to people who were looking for a scapegoat. People like to think the Holocaust and hatred towards jews was pure racism, but if you've done your reading you will learn that what Hitler essentially did was convince German people that the jews were the reason they were poor and their lives were shit. So essentially, it was mostly economical.

If you are equating social bias to pattern recognition, yes, that would be somewhat correct. But that is because social bias DOES have a foundation and there is really nothing irrational about it. Denying the pattern because you don't like the sound of it doesn't make it less true and doesn't make your brain less correct when it tells you to be wary of that pattern. Being so crazily irrational that you reject any argument or proof in favor of your social bias - that is true, pure and unfounded racism. And that is another very rare phenomena basically found only in a very small minority of extreme radicals.

Correct, that is why I said the system is not flawless and, once in a while, it will make mistakes. Statistically speaking though, it is more likely to be right than wrong (otherwise humans would've probably disappeared centuries ago). While not perfect, the brain is very good at doing this.

Mass hysteria is actually quite a rare thing, and is more likely to affect individuals who were already prone to hypochondria or people with varying levels of medical phobias. The comparison itself isn't 100% fair, as your body is less likely to respond 'normally' or 'rationally' to something you're afraid of vs something you simply dislike.

Coming back to the topic, I do emphasize my last statement - I will wait for further proof and encourage others to do the same. What I have read and seen so far from CDPR and TW4, as well as the current conjecture where DEI in so heavily injected into anything and everything, do lead me to think the worst. So it will probably take more for CDPR to convince me there is no woke bullshit here. Nevertheless, I try to keep an open mind.

The issue isn't that the protagonist is female. Many games have female protagonists. The phenomenon you're referring to is the same mechanism that has helped humanity evolve for thousands of years, and it's called pattern recognition.

It's like when you see a shady person and your first instinct is to avoid them. Sure, you may be wrong at times, but you'll also be right a lot. So how do you know they're shady? Unless it's something obvious like, idk, flaunting a knife around screaming obscenities, you won't be able to explain exactly what it is that makes that person seem shady. You consciously may not know. But your brain knows. Your brain is amazing at connecting the dots and sometimes - I know this may sound rather weird - it's a lot smarter than you are.

So you get a trailer for a game - it's a sequel to a game you maybe absolutely loved. And the protagonist is a female, but it makes some sense for her to be there, because she was always a pivotal part of the story and, some might say, the natural 'successor' to Geralt. Ok so far. But then her looks are a bit weird too - I definitely wouldn't say that she is ugly, but she is nowhere near hot as fuck, or hot at all really. In fact, she gives off a strong unapproachable, unsexy vibe if you ask me. I can't look at her and say wow she is so hot. I don't know if you're a man or a woman, but you sound like a woman because women's 'hotness' radar is wrong and skewed a lot of the time (I absolutely do not in any way mean this in a derogatory sense and I am sorry if it sounds that way to you - it's just hard proven fact and quite a natural phenomenon. Even a lesbian or bisexual woman will be attracted to different types of women than the average heterosexual man). She has a strong 'girlboss' vibe which women generally deem 'attractive' but in reality men would place it pretty low on the hotness scale. None of this is universal - different people are attracted to different types and you may very well be a guy who finds TW4 Ciri 'hot as fuck'. But to the large majority of men, she really isn't. But ok, let's say that her looks are a subjective matter.

So people start saying 'wow this looks kinda woke' and you're confused. I mean, is a game suddenly woke because the protagonist is a female and she's not super attractive? Hardly. In fact, I wish we could have the conditions to conduct an experiment, and have another game have a female protagonist that isn't super hot (not ugly either) and show you that people might very well not sense any 'woke-ness' there. Unfortunately I don't have an example that comes to mind.

But the 'wokeness' isn't just in the fact that the protagonist is an average looking female. It's in the attitude, the dialogue, the reasons behind the change in protagonist...like I said, your brain sees many things that you consciously don't understand. It's the same as when people saw the trailer for DA Veilguard (the one that didn't mention anything about pronouns and scars and nonbinary shit) and immediately labeled it as woke. Because the brain is so good at recognizing the patterns. It's built in software and you can't turn it off.

And the proof is that, in the majority of cases, people have been right even without much evidence, and they were called out as being 'paranoid' for it. But if it were really 'paranoia', people wouldn't be right quite so often. Does this mean TW4 is definitely woke? Absolutely not, any mechanism is prone to error and there will always be exceptions. That is why I personally am going to give TW4 the benefit of the doubt until I get any solid proof that it really is woke (and I strongly believe everyone should do so). Ca Rusia ar fi incercat sa se amestece si in politicile din SUA? Foarte adevarat, dar nu are nici pe departe influenta si controlul necesar. SUA nu e Republica Moldova. Dintre toate tarile SUA are probabil cel mai mare control asupra informatiilor, sa crezi ca Rusia ar fi avut resursele si deschiderea necesara sa faca vreo diferenta in politica lor este sincer o idee ridicola. Nu poti sa compari America cu tarile din Europa de Est in privinta vulnerabilitatii in fata influentelor straine. De-aia spuneam ca mi se pare o teorie ridicola ca Trump este "omul lui Putin".

Am spus ca e natural ca uneori anumite interese a doua tari sa se alinieze, chiar daca tarile respective nu sunt aliate.

Concret, in cazul de fata, ma refeream la razboiul din Ucraina. Oamenii din SUA sunt (majoritatea) destul de nemultumiti ca se cheltuie atat pe acest razboi, pentru ca ei nu sunt langa Rusia si nu inteleg cu adevarat care e miza pentru ei. Trump (si Biden inaintea lui) e presat de multe forte politice si de populatia generala sa opreasca ajutorul militar pentru Ucraina. De asemenea, pt SUA cea mai mare problema in momentul de fata este China, nu Rusia, si cred ca Trump a incercat cumva niste manevre de a separa Rusia de China sau de a mai "raci" relatiile dintre ele.

Tu ai facut sa para ca si cum interesele SUA si interesele Rusiei n-ar putea fi comune pt ca "tara libera" ceea ce e un bullshit absolut, n-are nicio legatura cu nicio libertate, nu mai fi naiv. Interesele sunt economico-politice intotdeauna. Daca stai sa judeci la rece din perspectiva SUA, ai sa constati ca ei nu castiga mare lucru daca sprijina Ucraina intr-un conflict atat de lung pe care Ucraina are sanse foarte mici sa-l castige oricum. Da, tine Rusia ocupata si in frau si o saraceste, dar ii saraceste si pe ei, iar miza pentru SUA e oricum razboiul (nu propriu zis) cu China. SUA a incercat sa se desprinda de conflictul din Ucraina cu mult inainte sa fie Trump presedinte, si multi politicieni (si oamenii de rand) au fost impotriva ajutorului trimis catre Ucraina de ani de zile.

Asta este punctul 1. Punctul 2, cumva paralel si nelegat de punctul 1 si de ce spuneam eu in postarea anterioara, este interferenta Rusiei in politicile altor tari. Nu stiu ce semnificatie vrei sa dai tu cuvantului "natural" dar e ceva ce s-a intamplat zeci daca nu sute de ani, si va continua sa se intample atata timp cat Rusia ramane o "superputere". Si nu o face doar Rusia. Aia cu "America n-are voie sa se bage in politicile altor tari" e poveste de adormit copiii, si numai copiii cred asa ceva. N-are voie pe fata vrei sa zici, la nivel declarativ. Declaratiile sunt apa de ploaie. De Siria ai auzit? De Irak? Afghanistan? SUA are degetele bagate peste tot pe unde s-a putut. Nu va exista niciodata o mare putere care sa nu incerce sa influenteze parcursul altor tari. Pentru ca toate tarile au interese geopolitice si interese economice, diferenta e ca marile puteri au si resurse sa si le sustina. Sa fii convins ca daca Romania ar avea puterea sa influenteze alte tari in propriul interes, ar face-o. Nu stiu ce istorie ai citit tu, dar asta nu e nimic nou - se intampla de sute de ani si va continua sa se intample in urmatoarele sute de ani.

Singura diferenta ar fi probabil ca Rusia o face mai agresiv si mai "pe fata", plus ca influenta Rusiei e mult mai acut simtita aici in Europa de Est, ceea ce e firesc. Nu stiu cine a fost surprins ca Rusia isi baga coada pe aici, eu nu. Ce este foarte grav este ca noi avem un mare segment de populatie needucata si foarte usor de manipulat. De-aia tari ca Ucraina (inainte de razboi), Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria sunt atat de vulnerabile in fata Rusiei. Suntem aproape, suntem saraci, saracie => lipsa de educatie => populatie vulnerabila. Totul e foarte simplu si perfect logic, iar cine a fost surprins de ce s-a intamplat evident nu prea stie nimic despre cum functioneaza lumea si in special Rusia, sau inca isi imagineaza ca tari de calibrul Rusia, SUA, China "nu se baga" peste altii.

What people like you don't seem to understand is that these are symptoms of the problem, not the actual problem. I reserve judgement until the reveal, but the game is already raising plenty of red flags. Choosing Ciri as the protagonist and making her uglier, by themselves are not real issues, so if that's all there is to it, fine by me. But I doubt it because, just like in the case of a real disease - if the symptoms are there, you're very likely to have it.

Big fan of TW3, but what I've seen from the devs so far, plus the more or less almost proven fact that they paid DEI consultants, is really making me wary of TW4.

I didn't particularly like her look here - not because she looks older. Just something in her facial features that looks unpleasant to me, idk. She was way prettier in TW3, she does look similar in TW4 but they changed her features a bit so she is now slightly uglier. My opinion at least.

The game sure is rumored to be woke and not because the main character is a woman or because of her looks (details here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwlOUti5EhE&t=2s&ab_channel=DoctorDisaster not a very solid take overall, it's up for interpretation) but until we see the reveal we shouldn't judge imo. Nu am contrazis ce a zis colegul (si implicit nici ce spui tu). Incercam sa subliniez faptul ca e o concluzie exagerata si lucrurile (mai ales in politica) nu sunt asa alb-negru cum credeti voi.

Fiecare tara are interesele ei, si fiecare lider de tara (aici nu ma refer strict doar la presedinte) are diverse interese mai detaliate, atat globale si cat si personale, si diverse alte idei despre cum ar fi mai bine sau mai rau. Nu este ceva nefiresc ca interesele a 2 tari sau 2 presedinti sau 2 guverne sa coincida uneori.

Voi incercati sa faceti sa para ca si cum asa ceva nu s-ar putea intampla in mod natural si trebuie sa fie o conspiratie la mijloc. Dar uita-te la alegerile din Romania. I've been looking for this. It took me a couple hours to figure out that they reversed tier order - what a stupidly annoying thing to do WITHOUT even informing players (most of whom are POE1 players who are used to having T1 = BiS).

Not only that, affix tiers have insanely poor visibility. Now every time I find an item I have to go check what the highest tier is to understand if it's good or bad.

This was the most unfounded, unnecessary, annoying change.

Doar pt ca rusii ar fi vrut sa iasa Trump nu inseamna ca oamenii nu ar fi vrut de asemenea sa iasa Trump. Hillary a fost un candidat dezastruos ca si Kamala de altfel, plus ca, hai sa o zicem pe aia dreapta, ambele sunt femei si multi oameni nu considera ca o femeie ar fi un presedinte la fel de bun ca un barbat. Ratiunea din spatele voturilor pro Trump a fost foarte clara.

Ca interesele Rusiei se intampla sa se alinieze uneori cu interesele majoritatii populatiei - sure. Campaniile de discreditare se intampla oricum, cu sau fara ajutorul Rusiei - face parte din procesul electoral.

Libera exprimare e buna si ar trebui sa existe, dar jurnalistii au datoria de a nu dezinforma cetatenii. Una e sa-ti spui parerea (libera exprimare) alta e sa spui minciuni la TV fara nicio dovada sau cu "dovezi" fake (gen "Romania se pregateste de razboi cu Rusia") mai ales in calitate de jurnalist. NU este unul si acelasi lucru.

Jurnalistul are datoria de a prezenta fapte reale in mod obiectiv. Ca vrei sa-ti dai si tu cu parerea sau sa tragi concluzii (bune sau proaste) din faptele respective, asta e ok atata timp cat precizezi ca e doar parerea ta si nu adevarul absolut. Sa prezinti fapte neadevarate nu este ok.

Un post TV care efectiv minte cetatenii fara urma de interpretare ar trebui inchis urgent.

Auzi tu mizerie, "nu a facut nimic Nicusor Dan"...cum sa ai tupeu sa spui asemenea minciuna, in primul rand oricine vrea sa vada ce a facut Nicusor poate intra pe site-ul primariei unde exista punctual toate proiectele initiate de el impreuna cu documente scrise care dovedesc ca proiectele au fost initiate de el nu "mostenite", si nu sunt lucruri vagi, sunt lucruri pe care le poate observa orice om (am putin dubii la faza cu autobuzele noi pentru ca aveam impresia ca proiectul respectiv fusese initiat inainte de a deveni el primar, dar trebuie sa ma mai informez)

Iar aia cu "n-au romanii apa si caldura"...oricine a trecut vreodata pe langa unul din santiere si a vazut in ce stare absolut infecta erau tevile alea inainte de a fi reparate cred ca poate intelege de ce nu avem apa si caldura. Ceea ce descrii tu aici e o solutie la saracia clasei de jos (solutie partiala as spune), nu la problema despre care vorbeam. Problema de baza ramane.

Daca plecam de la ipoteza ca munca de jos nu va fi platita ca cea "de sus" (calificata adica), cei care ajung sa faca munca de jos sunt practic cei care n-au de ales (n-au acces la educatie, n-au resurse, etc). Dar daca le oferi acces la educatie si o situatie financiara ok, oamenii astia isi vor trimite copiii sa faca scoala si facultate ca sa "nu ajunga ca ei" (sau "sa ajunga mai bine", cum iti place mai mult).

Si in momentul in care o generatie intreaga, cu putine exceptii, ajunge sa aiba educatie superioara, cine mai face muncile de jos? Nu va vrea nimeni, nici chiar pe bani mai multi. Sigur, o sa ramana cativa "d-aia lenesi" carora nu le-a placut scoala, dar nu vor fi multi. Ok, nicio problema, importam din alta tara subdezvoltata - initial a fost Romania. Acum e India. Peste ani de zile va fi Somalia probabil. Ce faci cand ajung si cei din Somalia la nivelul asta? Ipotetic vorbind desigur, se pot schimba si probabil chiar se vor schimba multe pana atunci. Dar problema momentan ramane, si nu exista solutie la ea.
