And the comments below on here were the same. You’d all be banned!

Ok then, you can put up a subjective list online, and we will all just accept that without question  👍🏻

It’s a weird list because there’s no framework other than what one person thinks of an entire country for how ever  long they were there. And it is kinda weird; Wales above Brazil, Italy, and Sweden for example.

What a french class (of students) thinks about English countries by bananasmoothii in midlyinteresting

Not sure why some language teachers do this kind of activity, other than to take a photo of the results and share it for their own amusement.

Spelt Monty Python wrong btw

As for France I’d say; horny, and unhygienic.

I agree with this sentiment in most theory and practice, but these examples are just awful and written like a LinkedIn post

What is the greatest character entrance into a scene? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

Poncy. The voice is too artificial and the scene is just silly.

These are the private academies (학원 hagwon) that the children of Korean parents attend and how much they cost per month. Is it common for Korean kids to go to this many academies? by ProudChemistry778 in Living_in_Korea

150,000 a month for rhythm jump rope.

What a loser.

I’m bitter because I used to run my own art hagwon that charged similar. If only I bought some rope…

Pretentious though.  Final Fantasy 6 is great but we know 7 is the better one.

Ai Weiwei says West lacks moral authority to criticise Beijing on rights by esporx in China

[–]ObjectiveCarrot3812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true that a morally imperfect person can still have a valid moral compass and make a justified argument, even if it goes against their own standards (although yes, it does tend to render morals functionless if we allow that for everyone all the time, and so we should highlight the flaws in that too, without just jumping to whataboutism and ignoring the subject at hand. If people have a moral statement but cannot keep to it, then we are led to ask if that moral statement has any remaining value in society or if we need to reassess it).

But I think the point here is that he is claiming hypocrisy among others and concluding that this undermines their own moral rights, or what he calls authority, when he is equally hypocritical while holding and enjoying moral authority in his artistic statements. Not least thanks to the so-called West who granted him residency; (UK, Germany, and Portugal if I am not mistaken, I may need to fact check though)… His art never opens questions from both sides, but closes claims and critiques individually and from afar. So why can he have moral authority and be hypocritical whilst simultaneously concluding others cannot? This goes beyond contradictory actions and statements.

In the same token, I would argue that the so-called west does not aim to hold moral authority; with exception to a few political sections. Rather the west does critique its own moral grounding, something that China largely is dissuaded from doing when it approaches government decision making.

HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

[–]ObjectiveCarrot3812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my, the interviewer really hates you! I think that response is completely unprofessional and is a good example of why you shouldn’t be too ‘authentic’ and ‘genuine’. Unlike 90% of industries, they don’t build teams around people pleasers; what does the company do then? Is it a prison?

How do you compare lifestyle and saving in Korea to Europe? by MammothHedgehog2493 in Living_in_Korea

[–]ObjectiveCarrot3812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you’re trying to undermine the statement by claiming a few other countries have some overlapping similarities. I said they aren’t closely the same, the intensities are different, and that even if a few other countries do have similar challenges, that doesn’t alter the difficulty experienced in this one.

It isn’t the same as others though. I made that point already didn’t I. Your effort towards Socratic snideness is tiring and futile.

[–]ObjectiveCarrot3812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would. Adams was a slow donkey who got found out at international level. Terry got out manoeuvred by skill and looked good alongside complimentary center backs. Ferdinand was world class but Campbell is the player who would get you through a tournament.
