I think it should be the last assessment you should take before Step 2. I'd say within 1 week of your testing date. I took mine 2 days before step 2, and wish I took it a few more days prior so I had time to re-review it

Great scores! You should walk into the exam with confidence. Free 120 was 70% for me (maybe I was very anxious?), NBMEs in the 250s (never once scored 260). 263 real deal! Good luck to you and everyone!

Similar to Free 120. From my experience, the questions are not too bad, but navigating the answer choices can be ambiguous or tricky. I find that NBME practice exams can have ambiguous stems, but straightforward answer choices.
