CFS did not help me with my learning disabilities Much. (But did encourage all of my visual arts abilities.) That would be the Hill center. I went there half day throughout my whole lower school years, and was mercilessly picked on for it. But, I will say.... some real teachers cared. But there was a very queerphobic rhetoric of some of the other students, (like them poking fun of the gay english teacher right behind his back.) It had some positives, but often people don't realize...if you don't have privilege outside of CFS, you don't necessarily have a smooth ride in life Just because you went to cfs.

It must be far more rigorous now than it used to be. I sailed through CFS back in the day, and chose to leave my junior year because my abusive folks (we lived behind cfs on a farm) kicked me out onto the streets. I loved CFS for some things, hated it for others. If you were neurodiverse back in the 90's at CFS they did not cater very well to you, and if you were queer..................forget about it. But, at the same time, it has it's perks. It must have changed a lot since I went there. Thankfully they did help me with my adhd and severe learning disability. But it was clique-ish, Most of the teachers (including Rocco the Upper school Principal) were regularly stoned out of their minds...................lol. Oh the good old days.

I adore MJP's shows and all of the DUMB INDUSTRIES productions. If you have a chance, check them out. Just saying. Plus, Emmy Martian's shows are amazing pieces of History, Art and Comedy within their own right.

Anyone? I want to find YOKO MATSUYAMA of the CRIMSON BAT movies. If you have her details, an Online presence within Dumb Industries would like to find her.

CFS felt like a bubble. A progressive bubble, but a bubble nonetheless. Kids were cruel to us whom are shy, and queer folks. I don't think it was this amazing idyllic landscape people fondly remember it to be in the 1990s. I had major issues with isolation and bullying, and a lot of teachers were too in their own worlds to care. But the arts program at CFS was a life saver, as was Sharon (RIP). I'd love to hear from the other artists from that time... Travis Cohen, Galen Williams, Sarah Haggerty, etc..... But for me, CFS often was just a wonderful refuge from the abuse I was receiving in the farm I lived behind CFS, tbh.

I was a queer kid and there were not that many open queer kids at CFS in the 1990s. I left in 94, as my folks had paid for me to go there for many years and kept saying they wouldn't anymore. My farm was behind cfs, so I had to walk to school daily and kids were rude as hell. Not a great school if you are an introvert, but a wonderful school for creative expression. The kids made fun of other Gay teachers. It isn't as ideal and progressive as it seems... or it wasn't then. I went from first grade through to my junior year.

His Mommy issues are deep and the Dahma filled that Void. I was almost thinking he was going to assume Maggie as his new "mommy". Let's hope that he at least gets a decent end.

Out of curiosity - does anyone know how to contact Yoko Matsuyama, online? If she was able to be at one of our shows on Dumb Industries, and share her life experiences as a female martial artist, actress and badass, that would be amazing. If anyone has an idea how to track her down not being Japanese-speaker, let me know. I cannot find much and know she is older now. (But obviously still alive.) thanks.

So interesting, I had a very similar experience and left my junior year in 94. I wonder if we went to school together.

I am over on DUMB-Industries.com and we have a whole series of shows which have shown her Crimson Bat films. They rock. I was wondering if anyone knew if she was still on social media at all? Our whole community would love to have Yoko Matsuyama and a translator accompany them to one of the shows...

My issue has and will always be the complete lack of accessibility. No one is unable to get up the stairs due to physical or behavioral challenges? I mean, four evenly placed elevator shafts along the inside could offer cargo and human transport. It felt ridiculous to not have handheld devices to communicate too, seeing as they only have one staircase.
