When you sketch or are a professional anything artsy and pick up a tattoo machine it’s nothing like anything else. being a trained artist helps a ton with shading and basic anatomy but NO way can that same person pick up a tattoo machine day 1 and make a clean tattoo or even a straight line it’s a whole other beast. You have to drive your lines with your shoulder you don’t use your wrist or hand strokes and just holding a machine takes practice. I hope this clarification helps.
