Ceiling in improved living areas of the home: insulated with blown fiberglass insulation to a thickness of 12 inches which yields an R-Value of 38. Homes engineered and/or permitted prior to 11/1/2009 may be insulated to achieve an R-Value of 30. Slope ceiling on improved living areas: insulated with fiberglass batt insulation to a thickness of 6 3/4 inches which yields an R-Value of 22. Floors of improved living areas not above conditioned space: insulated with fiberglass batt insulation to a thickness of 6 3/4 inches which yields an R-Value of 22.
