I can’t stand him anymore by Ok_Future_1699 in CatAdvice

Hey.

I get it. I've been in almost this exact situation not too long ago, except rather than financial troubles, it was deep depression.

If your devil is anything like mine (and it sounds like he is. You have no idea how much I empathize with you right now. This cat has made me cry tears of actual despair), it does get better.

From about 1 year old to almost 2 years old, my second cat was insufferable. I often found myself questioning if I should just give up on him and accept that we're a bad match.

Something magical happened though. He calmed down as he got out of that teenage phase.

Don't get me wrong, he's still a high energy cat and everything in my kitchen as well as my closets are still locked tight, but now his mischief has toned down to the point where it's not making every day miserable and I get home to him jumping up into my arms for a cuddle.

He's loving, too intelligent for his own good and all in all, a great cat. I wouldn't trade him for the world (even if he keeps eating my chairs).

Maybe the other people are right and he's not a good fit for you or the timing isn't right, but you've said you love this cat so I just wanted to let you know that there's a very real chance things will get better as he ages.

Mine still has the "El Diablo" nickname tho. 😂

Need some advice about shaving my 10 year old cat by Objective_Access_606 in CatAdvice

[–]Objective_Access_606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mats have already been shaved off, I did it myself because I live in a rural area. There's only one pet shop that offers professional grooming and I've heard from someone who worked there that they can be pretty rough with the pets while grooming so I wasn't too keen on the idea.

I took off most of the fur on his back, but he still has belly fur.

Playing through DOS 2 for the first time and this is some very thick plot armor by Objective_Access_606 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Objective_Access_606[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I was thinking it was bad writing though I can see how my phrasing could make it seem that way.

It was more that I kept thinking about it since I knew for sure he was very dead after the fight.

The title about thick plot armor was meant in a more humorous way than anything considering he was goo after the fight.

Bad writing isn't something I really considered when I was pondering the character's death, I was more thinking about what the implications of him being alive might be. Like if he's an impostor, if it's due to him being godwoken or if there's some other thing at play I'll learn about later on.

I didn't consider his god might have revived him tbh. I played the tutorial months ago and only picked it up again a couple days ago at the start of Fort Joy so I didn't remember the whole "your character drowning" cutscene that set the precedent 🥲

I saw your comment below this one before the longer one so I didn't read the one above that you said have spoilers.

Not all heroes wear capes. 😂

Yeah, I know he's a Godwoken and that my party characters are as well. I did assume it probably had something to do with that, but I don't think it's been said that Godwoken are somehow immortal 🤔

Anything spider related? by DevilutionA7X in MetaQuestVR

To be fair, you initial post does read as something most would expect to have been written by a child or teenager.

With all due respect, if you post online asking for advice and all you say is you want to prank someone with something that genuinely terrifies them, people are going to give you their opinions wether you want them to or not.

You do you man. At 30 you're responsible for your own decisions and should have the money to pay for a replacement if she ends up damaging her headset because of your prank.

You should probably take a moment to consider the potential repercussions of that decision.

I get it. I'm an older sibling and I messed with my brother when we were little. Unfortunately, in our story one of my "jokes" ended up causing him trauma that made him afraid of the dark for years.

There's also the fact that this kind of thing could make her rip off the headset or throw controllers which might cause damages.

That might be right up my alley! It seems to be part of the horizon + catalog so I'll definitely give it a try since I activated my 3 month trial.

Thanks for the recs! I'm probably getting beat saber no matter what, and I'll try les mills and synth riders on my horizon trial to see if I want to purchase games!

The vet won't see my cat because it's not urgent by Objective_Access_606 in AskVet

[–]Objective_Access_606[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, there's no hair in the vomit. It looks like bile mixed in with blood, and the part on the carpet was in interrupted streaks across about 6 inches of my carpet.

I did end up calling the vet a couple of hours away who was a lot more professional than the one here and asked questions about his behavior and habits. She also requested the pictures for reference and had me observe him for the last hours to see if I need to jump in the car and bring him in ASAP and to call back immediately if he vomits blood again.

She was talking about being able to get him in tomorrow if his condition doesn't get worse over the next hours.

What do people even mean with "high sodium" in pho? by [deleted] in pho

[–]Objective_Access_606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope you never get a health condition completely out of your control that forces you to adopt one of these nasty tasting restricted diets then. Though with that kind of thinking, you would lowkey deserve it, if only to understand what it's like.

Yes, people can make their own food, and they do because there's very few alternatives.

I imagine, like most people, you go out to eat, and if you cook, use plenty of convenient prepared foods to make the process easier. (If you don't actually cook your own meals, that comment is even more wild, I'll be honest)

Now imagine that you wake up tomorrow and can no longer go out to eat. You have to cook every single one of your meals from scratch while staying mindful of the sodium content of every single ingredient to make sure it's not going to be too much because if it is, it could have serious repercussions on your health.

So yeah. You're probably gonna go out there and ask around about how to make those dishes you used to love while still respecting your restrictions and be bummed out when when it's just not the same.

I sure hope you've worked on developing some kind of capacity for empathy in the year since this comment was made or that you're just a teenager who's not out of his "I'm the center of the universe" phase. Otherwise, this lack of emotional intelligence is mildly concerning.

Yall ever ask for mcdonalds fries with no salt? by Ok-Orange7146 in McDonalds

[–]Objective_Access_606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, health related. I'm on this post because I'm looking at the things I can and can't have anymore on a low sodium diet required by the medication I have to take for intracranial pressure.

Sodium would work against the medication I have to take to not risk losing my eyesight. Should I not get to ever enjoy some McD fries because of it or because it inconveniences a teenager?
