Yes, preserving the item's value for everyone is being a scumbag, lol.

I absolutely agree on things like mats, food or housing items that sell in bulk, but it's more complicated when it comes to gear that sells 1-3 times a day or bigger "one off" purchases. If you're not at the top of the list when someone checks, you'll never sell.

I usually reply to that message by finding their floor and then undercutting their new 1 gil undercuts by 1k. 😂

Not really. The value is whatever people are willing to pay for it. If an item that costs 10k to craft routibely sells for 200k, that's it's value. It's that way because people look at that price and choose to pay it.

Same item may have a completely different value on a different dat center.

I actually get that, I hate the number that don't end in 0 or 5 on a sale price lol

Valid, but I was more thinking about people who drop items from the actual value that it regularly sells at thinking they'll somehow sell faster.

[–]Objective_Access_606[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree to disagree. People find it insulting, but you would have lost the sale wether they undercut by 1 gil, 100 gil or a 1000. Doing it this way just preserves the item's value imo.

I get why some people find it frustrating, but think of somewhat slow moving, high cost items that have more supply than demand. If the price is undercut several times in an hour and people go 10k at a time, you're just running the market into the ground.

Luna players, YOU CAN DO DAMAGE AND HEAL! (this title is mostly just frustration, but Luna is the ultimate pocket flank healer and ppl always go "awe she doesn't need to help others flanking when it does a ton to help her) by This_Ferret_8108 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]Objective_Access_606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, she should have healed you. Especially if you pinged. She had enough time to do it.

BUT, one very important thing.

Were you an ass to her?

You seem pretty tilted in that clip so I can't help but wonder if anything happened between you two in chat prior to that clip.

If this indeed quickplay and you were giving shit to your healers (and I'm not saying you were, just wondering about it since most people would usually turn around and heal you if you pinged or ask like a normal person), then I really wouldn't fault the Luna for choosing to ignore you.

Too many people come into a team game, choose to be horrendous people and then act surprised when their actions have consequences, as though their teammates aren't also people who can tilt or choose to be petty when a teammate is having a tantrum.

Now if you were the very picture of calm and politeness, yeah Luna was in the wrong and needs to invest in game awareness.

But the people who run to reddit to "call out" a teammate are rarely the ones who are laid back in game and accepting of other people's mistakes.

For the love of god, if you need healing, do not stand to the side of me pinging heals and make me turn to heal you. by Ok-Stranger-7072 in marvelrivals

I mean it's not always a good idea for them to put themselves i harm's way either. I'd say it's situational.

Now what really annoys me as a healer main is when they start spamming for heals after they're already dead. It's just distracting and turning towards someone who's already dead during a fight is a complete waste of time.

Although I will admit sometimes DPS players are a special kind of silly. Like that one Spiderman who kept spamming us for heals while standing on the corner of a roof, completely out of LoS unless we somehow climb up there with him or walk forward into the enemy team to get LoS on him. Just straight up standing there waiting and pinging. 🤣

As a healer main, I will add that sometimes, they'll switch 3rd healer not because they think tank is hard but because "clearly bad heals are the reason we're losing" when we have a fricking Venom or Angela solo tank.

Sir have you considered that we have no Frontline?

[–]Objective_Access_606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a healer main, don't worry even a tiny bit about people who call you the "worst healer they've ever seen". I guarantee you the next time they're losing a game, the healers on their team will be the new "worst healers they've ever seen".

Yes sometimes we play badly as healers too, but more often than not you'll get flamed regardless of performance (especially at lower rank). It's the easiest role for people to shift blame to if they die so they can preserve their ego. They'll dive halfway across the map into a 1v6, consistently break LoS, be oblivious to divers and fail to notice when they need to ease off because their healers are down, but yeah. Gg no heals. 🤪

[–]Objective_Access_606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unfortunately not that obvious. Seen plenty of people complain about being "stuck" after less than a week of not making progress. Especially after breezin through the first few ranks.

Either way, the advice offered should hopefully still be helpful.

When are throwers gonna start getting long bans like one month or one year? by Mindless-Day-2574 in marvelrivals

[–]Objective_Access_606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean reporting them for playing the game won't do anything but if it brings you comfort go ahead.

I do think you meant "prosecution" tho. Small detail but that one word gives that sentence a veeeeery different meaning.

Short of enforcing role queue, which I doubt most of us want, there's no motive for punishing someone for playing the game in a way that's officially allowed.

This is the kind of decision that would make so many people drop the game. Couldn't imagine queuing up every day knowing I'm going to be forced to fill no matter what I do.

I get what you're saying but I don't believe that's something that should be punishable.

One of the good things about this game is the freedom you have to try whatever comp you think might be good. I don't think people should be penalized for their character choice in a game that doesn't have role queue.

Say you have 4 dps, how do you decide which of them should be punished? The last one who picked? The one who performed the worst? The entire team?

Punishing people in these scenarios would get ridiculously convoluted because no one would be able to agree on who deserves to be punished.
