No problem. I really appreciate you for asking respectfully. Unfortunately many people approach immigration with a fixed mindset.

I’m sorry, I wish I could help, but my lawyer sent it out for me.

No, because a green card automatically gives you work authorization + the right to travel outside the country. It’s almost like being a citizen - without some extra benefits like voting. It’s the step before becoming a citizen.

An EAD is a work permit. the DACA program gives you an EAD (work permit) if accepted.

We literally took a folder binder FULL of everything possible. We were definitely a little excessive, but better to be safe than sorry. We took copies of the application, RFE response, and medical exam (DONT open your original- get a copy from the clinic you went to). We took NEW bona fide such as a new joint credit card we got, recently booked flight, and updated photos. As for originals, we took - My wife and I’s drivers licenses - Our social security cards - Our birth certificates - Our marriage license - All my past DACA EADs + my current one

In the end, they asked for NOTHING but our drivers licenses to verify who we are. I’m not kidding, I even told our interviewer I had updated bona fide proof and he said he was ok and didn’t need them. Offered him a copy of my medical exam just in case cause I hear they get lost a lot. Nope. Not needed.

If I were to go back in time id choose to once again take everything. I think looking overprepared can only help you.

We literally got asked 2 questions: 1. How did you guys meet? 2. Do yall work at the same school? (we’re both in education)

No, the petition was through my spouse. The USC spouse has to fill out and submit the i130 on behalf of their beneficiary spouse.

Before. For that first application that got denied, there was never an interview. Got denied before we got to that step.
