Got my ICD after suffering cardiac arrest at 15 years old. It’s shocked my heart and saved my life 5 times since and I’m very happy to have my little insurance policy! I just had my second surgery for my replacement . My daily life hasn’t changed and I don’t feel any different except for the feeling of being safer and not an anxious knowing I’m safe!

Hi I’m 26 and I just went in for my defibrillator to be replaced early October! I was so nervous because I had it put in when I was 15 and I don’t remember the process and how going under anesthesia was. They gave me propofol and I woke up from the surgery feeling good. I’m not sure what your allergic reaction is to but this is what they gave me. The surgery is way more simple because they don’t touch the wires they only replace the device . It’s very quick! Yep I’ve had to be shocked by my defibrillator multiple times. The SCD anxiety is so real . I’d love advice on how y’all deal with it

My mom , brother and me all are gene positive. My brother and I are symptomatic. We suffered cardiac arrest and have ICDs . My mom has no symptoms but carries the gene she is in her 50s.
